Emily Metzgar named dean of the Penn State Bellisario College of Communications | Penn State University Emily T. Metzgar, professor and director of the School of Journalism and Media at Kent State University, has been named the new dean of the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State, following a national search. Metzgar’s appointment will begin on July 1.

Congrats to alum Dr. Myoung-Gi Chon for winning The Plank Center Award for Leadership in PR!

Congratulations to the following doctoral students on receiving the Patricia Kay Benoit Award!

The Benoit Award supports independent or collaborative research in mass communication. Recipients are selected through a competitive process. Proposals are evaluated based on academic rigor, and accuracy of clarity of research design.

Congratulations to doctoral students Tu Truong and Adwoa Baffour on their recent awards! Tu is this year’s recipient of the James E. Grunig and Larissa A. Grunig Outstanding Thesis Award given by the Public Relations Division. Adwoa received a travel grant from the Political Communication Division.
