Congratulations to our LSUCIA&CRM students for wrapping up another successful week of Case Studies!
After a week full of presentations, collaboration, and long hours, students sharpened one of the most important professional skills there is: public speaking! Getting up in front of a room can be intimidating, but watching students grow more confident with every presentation is always one of the best parts of this long-standing tradition.
This week is more than just presentations. It is a chance to think critically, work as a team, and prepare for internships and future careers.
A special thank you to all of the practitioners, alumni, and supporters who continue to invest their time into this program. We appreciate everything that y’all do for us!

A few of our LSUCIA&CRM students and alumni had the opportunity to visit Orlando, Florida to attend the IIA’s Global Student Conference! It was an incredible experience filled with insightful speakers, a competitive case competition, and meaningful conversations with students and professionals from across the internal audit community. Huge congratulations to Christian Minor and his team on placing 3rd!
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and represent LSU alongside such driven future leaders!

We were excited to welcome Kinnaird McQuade and Devin Rudnicki to LSU this week to talk about what cybersecurity leadership really looks like in practice.
Kinnaird shared insights from his role at BeyondTrust, where they serve 75 of the Fortune 500 and focus on privileged access management through the principle of least privilege. He also talked about the importance of being a “T-shaped” professional by building a strong foundation across areas while going deep in one. One of the biggest takeaways was being willing to take on challenges, learn from them, and find mentors who can help guide you along the way.
Devin brought a great perspective on leadership and career growth. She emphasized taking a leap of faith, staying curious, and always being willing to learn. She also highlighted the importance of mentorship, collaboration, and thinking in terms of business risk, not just cyber risk. Her advice on overcoming imposter syndrome and leaning into your community really stood out, along with her reminder that the future of cybersecurity is bright.
Thank you both for taking the time to invest in our students and share such honest and practical advice. These conversations are what help bridge the gap between the classroom and real-world experience.

The LSU Center for Internal Auditing & Cybersecurity Risk Management was proud to host Colorado Robertson and Chad Bourque for a discussion on risk management in practice.
Colorado shared how risk management at Louisiana State University extends well beyond insurance, highlighting the integration of risk analysis, financing, and mitigation strategies to support the university’s broader mission. His perspective reinforced the importance of building a culture where risk awareness is embedded into everyday decision making across campus.
Chad brought an applied ERM lens, walking through how organizations operationalize frameworks through aligned taxonomies, clearly defined risk appetites, and KRI-driven reporting. His insights gave students a practical look at how ERM evolves across complex organizations.
Opportunities like this are what make the Center special. Connecting students with professionals who are actively shaping the future of risk helps bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world, and continues to strengthen the pipeline of future leaders in internal audit and risk management.
