Mrs. Dianne Palermo is retiring with 33 years’ service. She began her teaching career in Acadia Parish teaching grades 3, 4, and 5 over an 11 year span. After marrying, she moved to West Baton Rouge Parish where she taught grade 8, was a literacy coach, and a librarian over a span of 14.5 years. She finally landed at LSVI as a librarian, master teacher, and mentor teacher for her final 2.5 years where she met so many inspiring students and faculty members. Prior to teaching, she served at the Office of Public Heath as a WIC clerk, and later as a Human Resource Assistant for 5 years.

Our Support Staff Person of the Year, Ms. Lue Stephen, is retiring this year after 34 years of service at LSVI. Ms. Lue began as dorm staff when the school was on Government Street. She later served as a paraprofessional and was a trusted student advocate, always helping students make their best choices. She goes by many names Student Whisperer & The G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time). We are not sure how we will manage without Ms. Lue; she will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched during her many years supporting LSVI
