Bath Bee-botics had an amazing day at the qualifier in Holt today. There were 20 teams there Our yellow team took first place for their innovation project and our purple team took second place for their innovation project. We also had our black team take second place for their robot design. All teams were focused and determined all day. They made me so proud with their sportsmanship and perserverence. The crowd from Bath that came out to support was also impressive.

We are so excited! One of our challenge teams is going to States on Sunday. Apparently another team had to drop out and we were next in line. What an amazing opportunity for our program!

There is a clip of one of our Explore Teams in this news story. We had so much fun in Laingsburg yesterday.

In Laingsburg, students in the K -12 Robotics Program got the chance to showcase their projects. The program is the only cohesive Robotics Program in both Shiawassee and Clinton County that supports almost 130 students in robotics.

Yesterday was our first qualifying event as a challenge team. We had 5 teams compete at Holt High School. The kids had 4 different times to run their missions to earn points. Each of these missions lasted 2.5 minutes. In between runs they could add or change their coding to earn points. They also talked with judges and shared their innovation projects. One of our teams received first place for their innovation project. These kids and coaches worked for 8 hours with short breaks in between. I was also honored by our teams by receiving the coach/mentor award thanks to their nominations. This meant so much to me. I witnessed perseverance, problem solving, overcoming adversity, teamwork, pride, and so much joy from our kids, coaches, and parents. This is just the beginning and I can’t wait to see where Bee-Botics goes in the future. -Botics
