Forrest Clark’s wife, Mary Beth, was one of our ‘honorary’ classmates. She faithfully attended all of our reunions. Sincerest sympathy to Forrest and their sons.

Mary Beth Clark, age 74, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 at her Hammondsport home.

She was born in Elmira, NY on May 20,1947 the daughter of Harry L. and Clara E. Johnson Shoemaker. She is survived by her husband, Forrest H. Clark, Jr. of Hammondsport, NY; her sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Mary Clark of Corning, NY, Patrick and Sarah Clark of Richardson, TX and Andrew Clark of Bath, NY. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Bryce Clark of Corning and Madison, Connor and Carter of Minnesota and McKenna and Landon Clark of Richardson, TX. Her sister, Lynne Shoemaker and brother-in-law, Richard Moyle of Canandaigua and Keuka Lake and her sister-in-law, Loretta (Arthur) Ostrov of Saratoga Springs also survive her. Also surviving her are four nieces and nephews: Allison and Justin Clark and Michael and Richard Shoemaker-Moyle.

Mary Beth graduated from Southside High School in Elmira, class of 1965; SUNY Geneseo in 1969 and received her master's degree from Elmira College. She worked for 31 years at Hammondsport Elementary School, teaching kindergarten as well as several years with 5th and 2nd graders.

Mary Beth was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Bath, NY for 52 years. She was an ordained elder and deacon and had served on the Pastor Nominating Committee. She loved music and sang in the church choir for over 25 years. She was active in the community as a long-time member of AAUW; the Bostwick Club; "Bath Bubbles" Red Hat society; and Delta Kappa Gamma honorary educators' society. Mary Beth was an avid shopper who could always find the best deals! She loved music and small children and after retirement she and Woody spent many happy winters at The Villages in Florida. They also enjoyed cruising in the Caribbean and traveling throughout Europe.

Calling hours were at the LaMarche Funeral Home, 35 Main St., Hammondsport, NY on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 from 1 to 3 pm. The funeral will be on the Saturday, Dec. 4. 2021 at 11 am in the First Presbyterian Church, Bath, NY. The Rev. Dr. David S. Barnard officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport

Donations may be made in Mary Beth's name to the deacon's or the music fund of the First Presbyterian Church, 6 E. Morris St., Bath, NY 14810 or to the Finger Lakes SPCA, 72 Cameron St., Bath, NY. 14810.

Obituary

Nancy C Brownell passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, October 7, 2021. She was a single mother who raised 3 boys while getting her degree in respiratory therapy and retired from the Bath VA. She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth & Stella Swarthout and sister, Kay Spires. She is survived by her brother, Larry (Lois) Swarthout and her 3 sons, William (Nancy), Robert (Bonnie) and Jeffrey. She also has 8 grandchildren, Shawna (Colin) Valenta, Joseph (Kelsie) Brownell, Caitlin (Tyler) Jaggi, Taylor (Will) Talbot, Bobby Brownell, Zachary Overcast, Jenna (Kevin) Yent and Tyler Overcast, as well as 9 great grandchildren, Aiden, Abby, Thea, Alex, Amelia, Emmett, Vada, James & Kristy Jo, who all love her very much. Her absolute greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She will be missed immensely. Family and friends are invited to Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath, on Saturday, October 16, 2021, for the visitation from 1:00-2:30 pm with a memorial service to follow at 2:30.

We have lost a dear classmate, Pete Watson. Remembering what a nice classmates both he and his brother, Larry, were. I will add this along with Pete's class picture in our Class Memorial Album.

Peter P. Watson, age 75, of Beaver Dams, NY and long-time former resident of Wheeler, NY died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was born in Wayland, NY on July 10, 1943, the son of the late Harold and Ann (Adamowicz) Watson. He retired from the Bath VAMC.

Mr. Watson was a member of the Bath B.P.O.E. 1547, Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173 in Bath and the Bath V.F.W. 1470. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5147. Mr. Watson was an avid golfer, hunter and Buffalo Bills Fan. He was an US Army Veteran and devoted family man.

He is survived by his wife Nancy (Fries) Watson and daughters Kelli (Jamie) Bigelow both of Beaver Dams, NY, daughter, Wendy (Mark) Watson-Sherwood of Freedom, NY and special family friend Sheri Ortiz; grandchildren, Leann (Russ) Becker, Craig (Elyse) Sherwood, Cory Bigelow, Tanner Bigelow and Lawson Bigelow; great grandchildren, Cayden and Nathan Becker; nephews, Scott (Tina) Watson, Paul (Tina) Watson and Matthew (Danielle) Watson, long time best friend, David Ferris and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. He is pre-deceased by his loving daughter Jodi Bigelow, brother Larry Watson and favorite hunting partner Jack Kerr.

Family and friends are invited to call at Fagan’s Funeral Home in Bath on Saturday December 15, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm with Father Pat Connor officiating. Internment will be in the Wheeler Cemetery.
