Today we highlight Deputy Vandewalker!

Deputy Vandewalker joined the Livingston County Sheriff's Office in May of 2024. He attended the Rural Police Training Academy (RPTA) and completed the training in 2021. Deputy Vandewalker worked for the Wayland Police Department for two years prior to beginning his career with our agency. Deputy Vandewalker is currently assigned to the afternoon shift with the Patrol Division. He is also a member of our Drone Response Unit. His favorite part of the job is being able to not only interact with the communities but meet new people as well!

Deputy Vandewalker graduated from Livonia High School in 2017 and attended Monroe Community College where he received various certifications in HVAC and Solar. When he is not working, Deputy Vandewalker spends most of his time outdoors enjoying nature. He is an avid hunter, enjoys kayaking, and taking photos.

On January 19th, we held our annual awards ceremony. Today's highlight is our Honorable Service. These award winners receive a uniform pin and certificate.

This award is for a creditable act performed in the line of duty of an unusual nature that does not meet the criteria for any other award but reflects initiative and accomplishment on the part of the nominee.

Deputy Molisani responded to the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred in the Village of Mount Morris. Deputy Molisani was given a description of the suspect and while enroute, he did observe an individual matching that description and was able to quickly detain him. Due to Deputy Molisani’s quick action and attention to detail while responding, the subject, who later admitted to committing the crime, was quickly arrested and nobody was injured in the process.

-Recognizing Our Deputy Sheriffs-

Today, we are recognizing Deputy Jessica Tubbs. She joined the Livingston County Sheriff's Office in July 2025 and recently graduated from the Rural Police Training Academy (RPTA) in Batavia. Deputy Tubbs is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and works the afternoon shift.

After graduating from Caledonia-Mumford Central School, Deputy Tubbs obtained a bachelor's degree in health science at Nazareth College. She continued on and received a doctorates degree in physical therapy while minoring in psychology.

When Deputy Tubbs is not working, she enjoys playing soccer. She has been noted as being a great athlete!

DRUG ARREST AWARD- Awarded to the Police Services Bureau Member making the most drug arrests in the calendar year.

The winner of our Drug Arrest Award is Deputy Matthew VanCuran with 29 drug arrests in 2025.

Congratulations to our newest Perry PD officers! 👮‍♂️🎓

We are incredibly proud to announce the successful graduation of Officers Shearing, Petrie, Walton, and Lampson from the Rural Police Training Academy.
This intensive 9-month program is no small feat; it is uniquely designed to allow recruits to maintain other employment while pursuing their law enforcement careers. Balancing a job with the rigors of the academy requires immense dedication, hard work, and sacrifice.
Their graduation this past Saturday was a testament to their commitment to serving our community. We are thrilled to have such dedicated individuals join our ranks. Please join us in welcoming and congratulating them on this significant achievement!
