Teamwork! Ponds, lakes, and creeks at Fermilab are monitored, managed, and used for cooling scientific equipment. We must take care of these ecosystems as they provide both services to us and habitat for wildlife. This is one of the goals of our Surface Water Protection Program.

Fermilab's Mu2e experiment looks for a muon spontaneously converting into an electron. Muons are created from a proton beam; the muons are stopped by an aluminum target where they can potentially transform into energetic electrons that make a specific signal in the tracker.
