Take a look at this colorful, creative artwork by Emile Elementary School students. The artwork is part of the Austin Civic Orchestra's virtual Paint to Music Art Show. Third and Fourth grade Emile students painted their artwork while listening to Le Création de Monde by Darius Milhaud. You can see all the artwork Emile students submitted tomorrow night at 7:30 pm by clicking on the Facebook link below.

So what does a music teacher do when school is closed due to Covid 19. This one repairs glockenspiels. I replaced all the pins on two of the alto glockenspiels as well as cleaned them. The ring of the bars is a bit better. Better yet the bars don't fall off as easily.

So this is after the pins and tubing have been replace as well as cleaning it. Not quite good as new as the aging/rust on the bars can not be removed without damaging the sound/pitch.

This is before cleaning and replacing the pins and rubber tubing. I had a little helper with me.

Emile Elementary, through nine generous sponsors, donated 41 wreaths to Wreaths Across America that were laid on veteran's graves on Saturday, December 14. At Fort Sam National Cemetery, I had the honor of laying four grave specific wreaths that were ordered. It was an honor and a privilege placing the wreaths and carrying on Wreath Across America's tradition of remember, honor and teach.
It's never to early to sponsor a wreath for December 2020.
