Yesterday we went on a field trip to the Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve! We had soooo much fun hiking through the forest and finding new things to explore! 🌲🌳

Today we found TONS of seed pods so we decided to ask our friends what they were doing with them! We were so excited to find these because seed pods are one of our favorite things to collect at nature preschool!🌱🌳

Over the past couple weeks we’ve been playing in an area that gets flooded every time it rains! Our only rule during free play is that we can’t go past where we can see our ankles in the water. In order to set a boundary line our students decided to start making a fence out of sticks and mud so they knew where they could and couldn’t go!
We love seeing the creative process our students go through when given natural materials and no instructions on how to play with them! Giving children the opportunity to have student led time allows them to express themselves and ask questions without hesitation!

Mud has been one of our favorite things to play with and observe during nature preschool! It’s important to listen to our bodies so we feel safe and comfortable while we play. Giving students the space to explore allows them to feel safe and confident while figuring out what they’re comfortable with! 🪱💧🌱
