Fish with a Waterways Conservation Officer

The PA Fish & Boat Commission will be providing a “Fishing with a Waterways Conservation Officer” event on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 8 am to 11 am at Locust Lake State Park, Schuylkill County.

The event is designed for youth, adults and families that are interested in learning more about fishing. Meet in the field located next to the campstore.

This event is also the perfect opportunity to socialize, learn and share fishing and boating experiences with Southeast Region Waterway Conservation Officers and other anglers. Equipment and bait will be provided or participants can also bring their own tackle.

The fishing license requirement is waived for participants age 16 and older during this program. Rain or shine. For questions, you can contact Robin at 570-467-2506.

Spring Bird Walks

Avid birders, Thomas Buehl Jr. and Tonia Jordan will lead bird walks at Locust on Saturday, May 18 and May 25, 2024 at 8 am. The walks will begin at the Locust Lake SP visitor parking lot. Tom and Tonia will offer helpful information about how to identify the local and migratory songbirds by sight, song, habitat and behavior. Those attending are encouraged to bring along binoculars. These are not pet friendly walks. Shine only. You must register for this walk by calling Robin at 570-467-2506. Space is limited.
