🧡 Orange Shirt Day is this Wednesday, September 30

This Wednesday, we invite our Baraga and Marquette Promise Neighborhoods communities to come together in recognition of Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Whether you’re joining us by simply wearing an orange shirt, taking a moment to learn and reflect, or participating in the Orange Shirt Day Walk in Marquette, there are many ways to take part and show your support.

For our Marquette community, the walk will begin at 6:15 PM at 600 Altamont St., the site of the former Holy Family Orphanage, and continue to the Seven Grandfathers sculpture.

🧡 300 free Orange Shirt Day T-shirts will be available at the walk.

We hope our PN families across both counties will find a way to participate, reflect, and help keep the meaning of Orange Shirt Day present in our communities.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

Garden update from Marquette!

In only 2 months, our garden has truly come a long way - and we couldn't have done it without our amazing families and community members, Chi'miigwech!

Last week was our first ever harvest from our garden - we harvested sugar snap peas, yum!

Our garden is currently growing cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, calendulas, nasturtiums, summer squash, carnival squash, pie pumpkins, and peas! We also have some kale and spring mix just starting to pop :)

If you have any questions about the community garden or are interested in helping out, reach out to Alex at 906-201-8451. We look forward to growing with you!
