Here’s where to stay, eat, and things to do in Visit the Heart of NC this Fall 🍁

STAY:
• Postcard Cabins are perfect, these tiny cabins are tucked away in nature while still being close to everywhere you’ll want to explore!

EAT:
• The Table is one of our all-time faves! Ash used to work here when we lived in the area, their food + quality never misses. The sweet baby brown latte is always a must, as are their fresh baked pastries, + their seasonal menu! 🙌
• Seagrove Cafe lived up to the hype in every way! Their pastries, breakfast, + coffee were all delicious. ☕️ we have wanted to visit here for years + it’s walking distance to so many pottery studios.
• The Black Lantern is a fun lunch + tea spot right in downtown Asheboro. Plus allergy-friendly 🫖
• CHIVES: Southern - Soul - Creole is one of our favorite dinners of the entire year. Chef Jasmine and her team cook from the heart + it is truly an exceptional and elevated dining experience.

DO:
• Cellar Creek Farm is a famCellar Creek Farmere you can meet so many incredible animals up-close. We got to meet donkeys, goats, pigs, + even highland cows 🐮 it’s precious here.
• North Carolina Zoo is a NCNorth Carolina Zoo very first dates was actually here. This is the world’s largest natural habitat zoo + their care and compassion for each animal is truly special. We took the Zoofari + got to really see some of the habitat up-close.
• North Carolina Pottery CenNorth Carolina Pottery Centerwhere you can learn all about the USA’s pottery capital, its history, and even take a hands on pottery class. We can’t wait to receive our creation once it’s glazed! 🏺
• Potters Pumpkin Patch is aPotters Pumpkin Patche pottery studio experience. You can visit multiple potter’s creations that bring a whole new level to Fall and Autumnal works of art. 🤩
• Millstone Creek Orchards iMillstone Creek Orchardsiting for years + just adore. You can take hay rides, visit their pumpkin patch, try fresh apple slushies, do a box lunch, or visit their C***r House on the weekends. 🍎

This is quite possibly THE best dive bar in North Carolina, and maybe the entire Southeast 👀

It’s the perfect mix of unfussy + approachable. If you’re a serious pool player or just looking to have a fun evening playing with friends, this is the spot.

It cost $10 for the 2 of us to play for the hour, both of us got drinks for about $5 a person. 🎱

Darts are complimentary 🎯

They even have a shuffleboard table in there.

They play film classics instead of ever playing “the game”, and everyone is welcoming and makes you feel like they’re there if you need them. ✨

Green Room has been a Durham, NC staple since the 1950’s and while this isn’t their original location, they’ve been set up at 📍 1108 Broad St, Durham, NC 27705.

If you’ve seen the film, Bull Durham, you’ll recognize these iconic 1930’s + 1940’s pool tables + decor from the pool scene. 🎥

This is a place that’s earned its community respect + simply asks for all patrons respect when hanging out here too. 🙌

Sailing into NYC ended up being such a bucket list that we had no clue we needed to have on our list 🗽🚢

We did a 10 day sail from San Juan, Puerto Rico all the way up to New York City, NY and cruising into the city at sunrise truly felt like a dream come true.

• Bistro Barberet Bakery is the ultimate French cuisine escape in downtown Lancaster 🥐 the patisseries here were out of this world 🤩 every bite makes you feel like you’ve been transported! 🇫🇷

DO:
• Wolf Sanctuary of PA is a family-owned wolf refuge focused on not only providing incredible care for the wolves in their care, but educating and providing opportunities for the public to learn about these amazing creatures 🐺

• Roots Market is only open one day a week, every Tuesday, rain or shine, year-round market. You’ll find the freshest produce, homemade baked goods, unique artisan creations, and over 200 stand-holders. We found some of the tastiest treats for the best prices here 🍩
