Big congratulations to Budd Clark on being named MVP of the Garden State Hardwood Classic đŸ†đŸ”„

A couple months back, Water the Seeds proudly featured Budd because we saw the work, the discipline, and the growth taking root long before the spotlight followed. This moment is proof that when preparation meets opportunity, greatness shows up right on time.

From planting the seed đŸŒ± to watching it flourish on a big stage—this is what development, belief, and consistency look like. Keep watering. Keep grinding. Keep elevating.

We’re proud of you, Budd. The journey continues—and this chapter is loud đŸ’ȘđŸŸđŸ€

Adam "Budd" Clark is poised to make waves at Seton Hall University after 2 standout seasons at Merrimack—where he averaged 19.8 points, 6.0 assists, and led nationally in steals as a sophomore. He earned NEC Rookie of the Year honors and twice scored 32 points in big games.

He's a baller indeed but here’s how his game mirrors the path to financial literacy and freedom for young people:

Budd controls the floor with smart decisions and tight ball control. In money terms, that’s creating and sticking to a budget—keeping your finances secure and on track.

Budd sets up teammates for success. Saving regularly—and if you can, sharing or giving back—helps build a stronger financial future for yourself and your community. That's sets you up for financial stability and freedom.

Whether stealing possession, breaking opponents ankles or hitting a big shot, Budd seizes opportunities. Investing—be it in education, a business, or the stock market—is your way to capitalize and grow toward financial freedom.

Financial fitness is just like Budd’s game—strategic, supportive, opportunistic. Practice good habits, learn from wins and mistakes, and you'll be ready to make your own big plays with money!

Madam C.J. Walker made history in the early 1900s as the first Black woman millionaire in America, building a haircare empire with products designed specifically for Black women’s natural hair. Her signature creation, Wonderful Hair Grower, set a new standard in beauty and became a symbol of empowerment and innovation.

Now, more than a century later, her great-great-granddaughter A’Lelia Bundles is carrying that legacy forward with a modern brand: Madam by Madam C.J. Walker. Already on shelves in over 3,000 Walmart stores and online, the line is crafted for today’s generation while staying true to Walker’s values of quality, innovation, and community.

Bundles, who also wrote Walker’s biography, serves as the brand historian to ensure every detail reflects her grandmother’s vision. As she puts it, the DNA of this line remains the same, high-quality products, smart marketing, and a strong team, just taken to the next level for a new era.
