Shining Stars Tutoring serves Preschool through Middle School. Focusing on the individual child! We will play games and have fun while learning.
One of my main focuses is to be mindful of the child's personality, learning style, and things that they like to do so that it can be incorporated into their learning and lessons. My other main focus is to build a relationship and rapport with the child and their parents or family members. Having that strong foundation is very important when it comes to getting to know the child and their learning style. My last, but not least, focus is making sure that learning and education is FUN.

Learning Tip of the Week 🌼
Social-Emotional Focus 💕
💬 “Name it to tame it.”
Helping young children identify and name their feelings is the first step toward emotional regulation and empathy. When kids can say “I’m mad,” “I’m sad,” or “I feel left out,” they gain the power to manage emotions rather than be overwhelmed by them.
💡 How to apply it:
• Use a feelings chart or emotion cards during playtime or circle time.
• When a child is upset, gently label what you see: “You look frustrated because the block tower fell.”
• Read picture books about emotions (“The Color Monster,” “When Sophie Gets Angry”) and talk about how the characters feel.
• Model emotional language yourself — “I feel proud of you,” or “I’m a little tired today.”
✨ The more children practice naming emotions, the better they become at understanding themselves and others — building the foundation for empathy, friendship, and emotional well-being.
Learning Tip of the Week 🌼
🎨 “Learn through play.”
Young children learn best when they’re actively engaged and having fun! Play isn’t just entertainment—it’s how kids explore, experiment, and make sense of the world.
💡 How to apply it:
•Turn learning into a game (count toys, sort colors, or play “I Spy” with letters and shapes).
•Encourage pretend play, which builds language, creativity, and problem-solving.
•Use hands-on materials like blocks, puzzles, and art supplies to strengthen fine motor skills and cognitive growth.
✨ When children play, they’re not just having fun—they’re building the foundation for lifelong learning.

Learning tip of the week‼️
👉 Teach what you learn.
After studying something new, try explaining it in your own words—as if you’re teaching a friend. Teaching forces you to organize your thoughts, spot gaps in your understanding, and strengthen memory retention.
