Curriculum literally means "to run a race." 🏃🏾‍♂️💨

So here's how we line up at Ọmọ́wálé Speaks:
📘 Grammar = GET READY
✍🏾 Writing = GET SET
📖 Poetry = GO.

Our scholars are off the blocks, and they're not looking back.

Omowale Speaks. Let's go. 🏁🔥

A grammar book shouldn’t just be a stack of worksheets—it should be a ladder. 🪜 I built this curriculum with a "low floor, high ceiling" approach because I know my scholars come from different backgrounds. Whether you’re filling gaps or building a foundation, this book meets you where you are and takes you further. 📚✨

Why is your middle schooler’s ELA grade sinking, no matter how hard they “try”?

It’s not an effort problem. It’s a design flaw. 🧵

In math, topics are separate doors. A struggle with fractions doesn’t lock you out of geometry. Clean slate.

But ELA? It’s a funnel. Every weakness—decoding, spelling, vocabulary—gets shoved into one high-stakes moment: The Essay. All at once. No hiding.

Malcolm X understood this decades ago. His radical solution? Copying the dictionary by hand. He knew that if you don’t rebuild the foundation, the house will always crack under pressure. 🖊️📖

That’s the blueprint for Omawale Speaks.

A Black intellectual bootcamp rooted in rigor and reconstruction.
Three terms. Grammar. Writing. Poetry.
Not a band-aid for the bottleneck.
A dismantling.
Your child’s confidence shouldn’t be the cost of a broken system.

Ready to rebuild that foundation? Drop “FOUNDATION” in the comments for more info.
And share this to a parent who needs the reminder: it’s the system, not their kid. 🤎

A band-aid on a fractured wall is a lie we both agree to believe.

It looks fixed. For a moment. But the crack is still underneath, widening in the dark, waiting for the next pressure.

Ọmọ́wálé Malcolm X refused the lie. He didn't cover the gaps in his education. He sat down in a prison cell and rebuilt his foundation by hand. Word by word. Brick by brick.

That's the blueprint behind Ọmọ́wálé Speaks.

Reconstruction over band-aids. Every time.

Comment FOUNDATION. The gap won't fix itself.

Semester two of Omowale Speaks begins in January: Writing.

In the fall, your child copied the dictionary. They studied the bones of language—parts of speech, sentence structure, the architecture Malcolm X built first.

Now the bones become muscle.

✍️ Winter: Writing. Arguments. Essays. Speeches. Your child learns to build a claim and make it land. To write something true and make it impossible to ignore.

This is not the five-paragraph essay of standardized tests. This is writing as witness. Writing as power.

The foundation was laid in fall. The voice begins to rise in winter.
