Johns Hopkins University, Techstars, and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield are teaming up to launch the Techstars AI Health Baltimore accelerator program. This initiative will empower early-stage entrepreneurs to revolutionize healthcare through AI. With the combined expertise in this collaboration, the program aims to bring more entrepreneurs and startup activity to the Baltimore ecosystem and drive high-impact healthcare innovation to market.

The 13-week program will take place in-person in Baltimore and will focus on supporting entrepreneurs leading healthtech, medtech, and biotech startups. Applications open August 26.

A groundbreaking new therapy was approved by the FDA on August 6th, leveraging cancer research conducted at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. Vorasidenib is a treatment for a particularly lethal type of brain cancer, called low-grade glioma. A remarkable advance has been made at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and its Ludwig Center, the Lustgarten Laboratory and Bloomberg~Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy: Using genetic engineering techniques, a team of investigators, including those from JH Tech Ventures, have designed a novel type of cell to recognize and fight cancer. https://bit.ly/4fk6ODm
