With the sale of the Baltimore Estonian House just moments away, the Baltimore Estonian School will find itself beginning a new chapter. Huge thanks to Helvi Kiik-Jester, Lukas Jester, Lea Kiik, Lili Põldmäe, Maret Põldmäe and Pete Saar for helping with the sorting, packing, re-purposing, recycling and up-cycling of 60 years of history. The task was daunting and in the end, I believe we were successful. In the months to come, we will have the archived material sorted & cataloged and some of it digitized for posting on here.

The Baltimore Estonian Society is conducting a flea market on Saturday, March 17 from 10:00 - 2:00 p.m. Most of the school items have been reviewed & processed for archival and disposal purposes. There are some books in the balcony library as well as some old instructional material still available.

If you have any interest at all in school books, library books, etc. AND have the means to pick them up, now is the time to act. Message us through our FB page with your request. Aitäh.

Here is one last look at the Baltimore Estonian School. Moving forward, we are archiving, disposing of and/or donating the school instructional & resource materials in preparation of the sale of the Baltimore Estonian House. We have reached out to members of Baltimore Estonian Society and of Baltimore Estonian House plus our FB followers to see if there are any items that they wish to have as keepsakes. Sadly, the responses have been very few. For those who did ask for specific items, we have been fairly successful in fulfilling those requests.

Dear Friends of the Baltimore Estonian School,

With the sale of the Baltimore Estonian House accelerating quickly, it has become necessary to take a hard look at what the school has in terms of historical & cultural resources, teaching materials and other assorted items. In this examination, we have discovered that there is an abundance of old and/or obsolete materials that need to be disposed of. Items that embody the heart & soul of Baltimore Eesti Kool will be catalogued, encapsulated in special bins and placed in storage.

At present, some of the items that we are sorting through may hold a special memory for you of the school. It could be something from when you attended school or perhaps when your children or grandchildren attended kool. We would rather see these items end up with you and not be lost forever.

If there is something from the school that you would like to have, please contact me through FB by April 30, 2017. We will do our best to locate the requested items and put them aside for you. Items requested will need to be picked up from the maja at some time in the near future.

This is our last FB post. Kindly understand that we cannot hold out indefinitely so we need to hear from you now if you are interested.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email us.

Thank you,

John Jester
