Maryland CAPE, the coalition representing all of Maryland’s nonpublic schools, expresses our heartbreak over the shocking murder at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, MN during morning Mass. We are outraged by the evil and depraved act of intentionally targeting young innocent children, and our hearts are with the mourning families and the survivors of this traumatic act of terror.
Ensuring a safe school environment is one of the most basic duties of society. As we mourn these innocent victims and as we pray that this shooting be the last of its kind in our nation, we commit to continuing to advocate for the safety and security of all school children, public and nonpublic, across Maryland.
