It's Star Wars Day. Still early in Mental Health Awareness Month. And Teacher Appreciation Week. I don't have some cutesy photo of all my nerd gear. Instead, I took a minute to thank God for surviving the Jedi mind-tricks of being married to a narcissist. Help me help somebody else. Use code 3T for a discount. Bit.ly/nowwhattg

I'm still reading one Proverb a day until the end of March. Proverbs is one of those books that just sits with you. To be teachers (naturally), we're assumed to be a certain level of smart, if you will.

Walking in the gift of teaching, you begin to see your "smart" amplified in ways that you didn't even know were possible.

When you're feeling the pull or answering the call of the 5-Fold teacher, you see smart with amplification, and on top of that God begins to show you systems and frameworks and ways to deliver His lessons to the people and the wherewithall (for lack of a better word) to be able share that with others in a way that they can replicate it.

How does all of that relate to Proverbs 18? As with all chapters in Proverbs, the 18th chapter offers life lessons. In that one chapter, I saw explanations for lived experience, correlations to current events (personal, in the church, and in the nation), and ways to lead the people so that we don't keep repeating the mistakes, errors, and fallacies that lead to these lessons. That doesn't mean that come May 18th, I won't read Proverbs 18 again and get new guidance, revelation, and wisdom, because nothing could be further from the truth.

The wisdom of Proverbs is a never-ending revelation when you come to it with an open heart. "He that has an ear, let him hear what thus saith the Lord." We can quote the scripture, in all kinds of variations, but the book of Proverbs (or any for that matter) requires us to actively do it.

As the teachers arise, this is a posture we have to commit to wholeheartedly. Not halfway, not when we feel like it, or when it fits the schedule. It has to be a dedicated lifestyle. You and everything about you becomes a walking lesson plan, either for your life or somebody else's, probably both. None of that means perfection or that you won't get things wrong. God uses the wrong to teach the right. (From a section of "my wrong" came 3 books that have helped many move from that same place).

The wisdom for this Wednesday ... Make a decision. Commit to the posture. Let the Lord lead. Do the work. Have a great day on and in purpose!

but also tell the truth Thursday.

I've never considered myself to be a fool but I am well aware that I've done some amazingly, top-notch, foolish things. AND could justify about 99% of them of my own volition. That last 1%, I probably blamed something or somebody else.

The Lord made me to be a logical thinker, therefore, I can logically justify foolishness and a good bit of makes some minor amount of sense, until it doesn't.

The day freedom came was the day I said out loud, "God this doesn't make any sense! What and where is the reason?" I'd reached the end of myself. His answer was that there was no reason and there would never be a reason because it wasn't His will.

That changed my outlook on a lot of things. I stopped looking for logic and started chasing His will. And instead of surrounding myself with people that would agree just because, He sent me people who would say, "I love you, but you're wrong."

Balance is necessary and too many of us are ok being unbalanced. When you get a minute today, read all of Proverbs 12. If you can't see yourself on both sides of some.of those things, you're delusional and I love you enough to tell you that.

Pray to do better and actually follow directions to do it. Fake wisdom is a trap. Just something to think about.

Not political commentary. Just a reminder to pray for EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY, FERVENTLY.

Everybody screams about "angels unaware" but do we really act like that? This is today's scripture writing but also a heart check. How do you treat people you don't know? For that matter, how do you treat the ones you know? Angels unaware is not limited to strangers! It could be the person you see every day doing the smallest thing.

Today's motivation, choose kindness towards everyone.

Great Day Everyone!!! Grab a journal and your favorite pen, it's time for scripture writing!!

Here's how it works, each day you'll set aside time to write the scripture by hand. If you're a writer, or want to start, write down your thoughts about the verse. Feel free to share your takeaways or a quick photo of your writing! Sadly, I can't actually write due to an injury, so I'll be doing voice notes or trying to scribble right-handed!

I'll post the full list later today. Here's today's verse. Happy Writing!

One of the most overlooked skills in creative and leadership work is clear assessment paired with intentional evaluation.

Before publishing, launching, or building, the real work is deciding what something is actually meant to become.

Clarity first changes everything that follows.

Are you mad at the mockery of God or YOUR church? Be honest with yourself. Be not deceived, God is not mocked. The mess that led up to the skit is the mockery. The skit just wrapped it up in a bow for you.
