Like last year, we're selling kettle corn and whoopie pies and this year we're also including donuts that will be made that morning! We're aiming for a goal of selling 300 bags of kettle corn in pre-orders.

This year for the first time, HCS is participating in a Hampden area school supply drive for Hampden Elementary/Middle 55 and ACCE. We'll be collecting supplies week after next, from the 12th-16th. I've attached supply lists for both schools. We'll be putting boxes out where you can put the items.

There's good news about the Roosevelt Park playground.
The fence has finally been taken down.
Ms. Katrina attended the Hampden Community Council meeting the other evening. She says the contractor has been fired, and they are tearing up part of it to put in the younger kid section that was in the plans. Potentially we'll see work being done by the end of next week.

Book Character Day brought in some wonderful, but odd, characters, ranging from Corduroy to the man in the yellow hat to the Strider from The Lord of the Rings.
