Looking for a dynamic summer experience working with some of the brightest students in the world? Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) has got the job for you! We are currently seeking applicants for numerous summer positions, including those working directly with students (resident assistant, teaching assistant, and instructor), to those working in our health offices (health assistant and nurse), and those working in administrative positions (office manager, dean of residential life, academic counselor, and more!). Staff are paid a competitive salary, and receive room & board at our residential sites. CTY operates at locations in CA, MD, PA, NY, and RI. CTY is currently seeking instructor candidates for our Astrophysics (ASTR) and Introduction to Astronomy (STAR) courses. Positions are available at our Los Angeles, CA residential location (ASTR), and our Santa Cruz, CA residential location (STAR). Instructors receive room & board in addition to a competitive salary. Candidates should have at least undergraduate coursework in astrophysics and/or astronomy, and experience teaching (ideally in the subject matter). CTY is currently seeking Instructor and TA candidates for our Cognitive Psychology (COGN) and Foundations of Psychology (PSYC) courses. Instructor positions for the COGN course are available at our Lancaster, PA and Seattle, WA residential sites, and at our Bristol, RI; Haverford, PA; and Fort Worth, TX residential sites for the PSYC course. Teaching Assistant positions are available at our Saratoga Springs, NY (COGN); Haverford, PA; Fort Worth, TX; and Los Angeles, CA (all PSYC) residential locations. Competitive candidates for instructor have at least an undergraduate major in psychology (or related field), and independent teaching experience (ideally in the subject area). Candidates for TA should have at least undergraduate coursework in psychology, and experience working with youth. CTY is seeking instructors for a variety of computer science courses: Fundamentals of Computer Science (Saratoga Springs, NY; residential); Foundations of Programming (Fort Worth, TX; residential); Introduction to Robotics (Baltimore, MD; and Stamford, CT; both non-residential); and Introduction to Robotics - All-Girls' Section (Collegeville, PA; residential). Instructors receive a competitive salary and room & board (at indicated residential locations). Competitive candidates have at least college coursework in computer science/programming and experience teaching; candidates for the robotics courses can substitute college coursework with experience with teaching/coaching LEGO Robotics. CTY is seeking school nurses for open positions at our summer academic camps. Site nurses oversee health office operations, including basic treatment of student illness or injury, management of student medications, and tracking of student medical files using the online CampDoc system. Positions are available at our residential locations (room & board provided, but nurses who live locally can commute) in Collegeville, PA; Haverford, PA; Saratoga Springs, NY; Seattle, WA; and Santa Cruz, CA. Positions are also available at our commuter sites in Baltimore, MD; Sandy Spring, MD; New York, NY; Stamford, CT; and La Jolla, CA. Candidates must have RN or LPN certifications in the state that they wish to work, and ideally have experience working with youth. Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a trashion show, mentor and look after some of the brightest kids around, AND get paid for it? CTY is currently seeking candidates for resident assistant (RA) for our male halls; positions are available on our east and west coast locations, and residential staff receive premium pay at our Bristol, RI and Seattle, WA locations. RAs supervise students when they're not in class - planning and running activities in the afternoons and weekends, and supervising students in dorms overnight. Competitive candidates have at least one year of residential experience in college, and have some experience working with youth. CTY is currently seeking candidates for Health Assistant (HA) at our Pennsylvania residential sites. HAs support the operations of the main health office, under the guidance of site nurses. This includes reviewing student medical forms, driving students to medical appointments, and providing basic first aid as necessary. For insurance purposes, HAs need to be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license (with a clean driving record), and must be first aid/CPR certified, or willing to get their certification before the start of the summer.
