Did you know that many Maryland libraries are serving as locations for free summer meals? Through the Maryland State Department of Education Summer Nutrition Program for Kids, children and teens 18 and under can access nutritious meals all summer long while visiting their local library and participating in summer activities. The program helps ensure kids continue to receive nutritious meals when school is out.

News Release: Wicomico High School (Wicomico County Public Schools) has been selected as Maryland’s School of Excellence by the American College Application Campaign (ACAC). This recognition honors schools that demonstrate outstanding commitment to supporting students as they plan for and pursue postsecondary pathways.

Nearly 100 special education leaders and educators participated in the Local Special Education Directors’ Meeting hosted by Wicomico County Public Schools and Worcester County Public Schools MD.

The meeting provided updates on division work, Blueprint Special Education initiatives, legislative developments, and guidance on Narrowing the Gap, with breakout sessions on literacy, IEP services, preschool models, and evidence-based practices.

Calling all LEAs, industry partners, nonprofits, and other organizations interested in preparing competitive applications for a Maryland State-Approved Industry-Recognized Credential (IRC) this year!

MSDE's Division of College and Career Pathways will host two virtual technical assistance sessions this summer prior to the application opening on August 1.
