Sacred Solitude: Thoughts for Hermit Day | Blog | Bon Secours Retreat & Conference Center 10/19/2025

These reflections are meant to support practices of Quiet and Silence deliberately entered into. Such practices are like 'date nights' for the spirit, with the God who loves and nurtures and feeds us, ever inviting us more deeply into fuller truer life. Hermit Day is October 29th, and there's a quiet day event at Bon Secours to attend, if you like and are local. A date day? Hoping for lovely weather at this lovely place too. This blog features that event, but also has a few ideas and quotes to support regular practices of Quiet we all do well to schedule into our day-week-month-year regularly. Triduum Retreat | Retreats & Events | Bon Secours Retreat & Conference Center 02/14/2025

FRIENDS - LOOK. AND PASS THE WORD PLEASE. Lent is coming. Triduum too. Friends... I'm excited to be part of the Triduum Retreat at Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center from Holy Thursday to Easter, 4/17-4/20. It includes presentation, reflections, lots of silence, the liturgies of the week with Fr. John Collins, CSSR as presider (and I really look forward to his presiding and preaching!), wonderful music leaders (yay Danny Gallagher et al), always great food and hospitality,. As the team chatted this week, I grew even more excited, seeing how the Spirit is drawing things together for these days. There's a commuter option too. If you have any questions, message me. Or certainly call the Center.

Have liked this long:

"There are far too many words about prayer these days. It is as if, in our starving, we think a cookbook rather than a meal will feed us."
