The Food System Lab @ Cylburn is an urban teaching farm in Baltimore City, operated on the grounds of the Cylburn Arboretum by the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF). Our diverse educational programs emphasize the important connections among the living components of a small-scale agro-ecosystem and offer a compelling introduction to an equitable, healthy and sustainable food system. Time for a greenhouse update! We’re currently growing our winter crops including mustard, celery, sorrel, radishes & chives. (Also, visitors please note that we will not have FSL open hours on Sunday, February 2nd.)

Time for a greenhouse update! The basil is coming out of our system this week & we're experimenting with growing moringa, an edible tree known for its nutritional value. To learn more about moringa, check out this page from the FAO: http://www.fao.org/traditional-crops/moringa/en/
Also, as an early heads-up to visitors, please note that there will not be any FSL open hours on Wednesday November 21st or Sunday November 25th.

Still enjoying the last couple Food System Lab tomatoes 🍅 of the season! Our sorrel is still going strong and the mustards, radishes, and chard are coming up soon!
