On September 3rd, UMBC hosted its annual I-Fest event. Our MIDN did and outstanding job engaging with students and faculty, effectively representing and promoting the mission and opportunities of the UMBC NROTC program.

On August 27th, Rear Admiral Matthew T. Pottenburgh visited the unit and spoke with the MIDN, sharing insights from his extensive experience in the U.S. Navy. Rear Admiral Matthew T. Pottenburgh current role is Commander, Naval Service Training Command.

During this Summer our 1/C MIDN had the opportunity to experience the aviation community.

MIDN 1/C Luckie had the need for speed flying in Super Hornets with Gladiators from VFA-106.
MIDN 1/C Castro went to Naval Station Norfolk shadowing HSC-7 Dusty Dog and their daily operation with MH-60S Seahawks.

MIDN 2/C Barton is featured on the USS West Virginia (SSBN-736)
MIDN 2/C Njoku is featured on the USS Oscar Austin (DDG-79)
MIDN 2/C Paradine is featured on the USS Cole (DDG-67)
MIDN 2/C Ulloa is featured on the USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20)
