Congratulations to long-time CCMS student, Nathaniel, who is about to start his freshman year at the University Of Colorado! Nathaniel has been a part of CCMS since the very beginning, and over the last 10 years has taken countless lessons in guitar, bass, voice, and music theory, and has performed many times with us at local music festivals and rock venues like The Recher theater. Nathaniel has been such a wonderful presence in our program and has wholly earned the respect and regard of all his teachers and classmates with his integrity, work ethic, and irrepressible good nature. We will miss him greatly and wish him the very best in this exciting new chapter of his life!

Don't miss a chance to see CCMS teachers Jake Marinari and Jake Kohlhas perform with their band, Otherworld, at An Die Musik in Mount Vernon, Friday, 8/28 at 7:30 pm! Otherworld is a modern jazz quartet that performs original music that takes influences from world, classical, and popular styles, has recorded three award-winning albums, and performed live across North America and Europe.

We're so excited to finally announce the return of our master class series this month! Please join us on 8/30 at 3pm at The Second Presbyterian Church at 4200 St Paul St for pianist Jeffrey Chappell's "Total Musician Seminar", where Jeffrey will demonstrate the four pathways of making music: improvisation, composition, arranging, and interpreting. He will show you how to know what your real strengths are, and how to awaken your unused talents and put them into action.

Jeffrey Chappell is an innovative teacher who is renowned for his ability to connect with music students of every age, instrument, and level of ability. He has traveled the world as a concert pianist and as a jazz musician. jeffreychappell.com

With fall right around the corner, our student rock bands are about to start gearing up for concert season! Joining a band is a key part of the learning experience for our students. It helps them put what they learn in their lessons into practice, gives them a chance to form closer bonds with band mates and teachers, and provides a chance to perform at some of the biggest professional concert venues in the area! Congratulations to Olivia Carlton on her recent promotion to assistant manager! 🎉

Olivia has been a valued member of our teaching team for the past two years. It's easy to see how much her students love working with her, and so do we! We're so excited to have her stepping into this new role!
