The AIABaltimore Emerging Professionals Committee is a social and professional network of building-industry professionals.
We are geared toward recent graduates, Intern Development Program (IDP) participants, young architects and designers. We have monthly committee meetings and host a variety of events including tours, happy hours, and educational programs.

The National Organization of Minority Architects has historically sought to promote and encourage design excellence within the design profession. As a professional organization Bmore NOMA wants to continue that legacy by elevating our budding talent. Students are formally invited to participate in the first Annual Bmore NOMA Portfolio Competition amongst their peers. Students will submit a final portfolio in PDF format, guidelines provided below. Students may showcase diversity in their design work (academic, professional, and extracurricular). The portfolio will be scored by regional professionals and members of the Bmore NOMA board on the following categories:
Visual Communication - Is the content clear? Can reviewers understand the design intent and process without the author being present?
Formatting - Is the organization clear? Is the graphic quality and layout strong?
Designed Work - Is the quality of work/content, storytelling and graphics compelling?
Eligibility:
Open to 3rd & 4th Undergraduate and all Graduate students enrolled in the Morgan State School of Architecture and Planning
Eligible majors - Architecture, Planning, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture

Join The Baltimore Architecture Foundation and Baltimore Heritage tomorrow at 1pm to explore the incredible design project built by the SmithGroup. This public installation features a bold interpretive pavilion sculpted to symbolize the historic forces of racialized state violence and gives an experience that educates visitors. This public art functions as a sanctuary to reflect, record, and share personal thoughts. It is conceived in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement as a mechanism for building empathy and healing.

"The Baltimore Chapter of the National Organization of Architects (Bmore NOMA) was started three years ago because we all saw the need and opportunity to promote excellence among architects of color, engage with our communities and further the professional development of architects of color within the Baltimore region but now we are asked to do just a little more. Now we have to do more. In accordance with the new mission of the National Organization of Minority Architects, our activism will need to become B.R.A.V.E. and more inclusive "to foster justice and equity in communities of color through outreach, and community advocacy".
Also a huge thank you to One Charles Center and Downtown Partnership of Baltimore for painting the outside of our new home while construction is underway.
