Chilibrew, Baltimore’s #1 Chili & Homebrew Beer Competition, is coming up! Saturday, April 26th 2pm-4:30pm

Chilibrew is a chili and homebrew pairing competition being held on Saturday, April 26th from 2-4:30 PM at Zion Church of the City of Baltimore. Tickets are exclusively available online until 1:30PM on April 26th, 2025.

Event Format:
Chilibrew XV attendees serve as judges for the event, sampling the entries and casting their votes for Best Chili, Best Homebrew, and Best Pairing from the competing teams.

An accompanying Judges Panel will also determine their favorite selections in a hedonistic review. CA$H prizes will be awarded to the winners of "People's Charmingest" and "Judges Choice" across all 3 categories, with a Bonus Prize being awarded to the Best Fermented Condiment (optional for competitors).

But more than anything, attendees and competitors alike will have the opportunity to mingle and share food, drinks, and ideas in the service of local nonprofits.

Beneficiary:
Over the years, Chilibrew has donated thousands of dollars to local, nonprofit beneficiaries in the Greater Baltimore Area.

This year, proceeds will benefit Blue Water Baltimore, whose mission is to restore the quality of Baltimore’s rivers, streams, and Harbor to foster a healthy environment, a strong economy, and thriving communities. Coincidentally, 2025 also marks Blue Water Baltimore's 15th year as an organization!

Baltibrew is pleased to announce the official return of Chilibrew this Spring for it's 15th year! The event will take place at Zion Church of the City of Baltimore, on Saturday afternoon April 26th from 2-4:30pm! This year's nonprofit beneficiary is Blue Water Baltimore, and we couldn't be more thrilled to support such an outstanding organization 🙂

The blue lines on the screenshot are where you can park. The green X is the entrance to the parking lot O and the red X is where attendees and competitors check in and pick up the Belgium sample glass.

Competition Overview:
Brewers must design a Belgian-style Saison ale to be served with a baked good. The catch? Bakers are required to use spent grain from the brewers' mash (at least 5-10% by weight) to create their counterpart. Those who are up for the challenge may act as both brewer and baker.

Attendee Overview:
All you can sample homebrew and baked goods.
The ticket includes a Baltibrew Brübakes Belgian-style sample glass.

It is with great regret that we inform you that this year's ChiliBrew XV has reached a logistical impasse and has been canceled. We extend our thanks to each and every prospective competitor and attendee for their interest. We have elected to make the decision now to allow the most time for attendees and contestants to make other plans for their October 14th weekend. We have already started the refund process for those who purchased tickets (the full ticket price is being refunded to the account used to make the purchase). This can take more than several days for the payment processor to complete. If a refund is not seen in your account please reach out to this address and we will investigate the issue. The team is evaluating options to bring the event back next year.

We had a great time the other weekend starting at and then walked around the corner to A big thank you for the behind the scenes tours while sampling delicious beers. It was great to hear about their journeys into professional brewing, their passion, creativity and community!

A fun Friday afternoon homebrew club field trip to the Ashburton Water Filtration Plant in Baltimore! It was amazing to learn about all the processes, protocols, and care that goes into providing high quality water for Baltimore and some of the surrounding counties. For those who don't know, Baltimore has best water for brewing beer! We all have a deeper appreciation for all the hard work to provide consistent clean drinking water!
