Congratulations to our Prekindergarten & Kindergarten BCSYC class of 2026! Yesterday was a special milestone, not only for our graduates, but also for their families, teachers, and everyone who has been a part of their journey. These graduates have learned so much more than letters, numbers, and academic skills. They have learned how to be kind friends, solve problems, show empathy, persevere through challenges, and develop confidence in themselves. These are the skills that will continue with them long after they leave our classrooms. As we prepare for an important upcoming week at our school to celebrate the impact a great teacher makes, especially towards early childhood education, we would like to announce one very important individual, our BCSYC 2026 Teacher of the Year, Yelena Grigoryan!

Yelena is a great asset to Cadence Education with thirty years of commitment to the Bala Cynwyd School for Young Children. Yelena is currently a Lead Teacher in our Junior Toddler Llama classroom.

Yelena was selected by her peers who shared that:
Teacher Yelena is a nice, positive, kind teacher. She does a great job building a foundation with the younger children and creating bonds with families. Teacher Yelena supports children of all backgrounds and abilities. Yelena builds strong relationships with children and families. Families trust her and feel confident in their child's education. Her classroom is safe, joyful, and welcoming. She works well with colleagues and staff. Yelena is super loving and loveable! Yelena makes all children and colleagues feel special, she is always cheerful and full of joy, she has a positive outlook and is empathetic. Yelena is the best co-teacher and doesn't only teach toddlers to be their absolute best but also wants to see her co-teachers thrive.

Using recyclable materials, the penguins worked together to design and create their own aquarium. their project reflected their imagination, team work, and growing understanding of how we care for our environment🌎.
We are so proud of the penguins hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning! 👏👏.
