What an incredible year 8 it has been!!

Presentation Week

Mystery over mastery.

If we ever come to a place where there is no more to learn, no more mystery, then we are no longer living.

Outsiders is what it is because of these children. We hope each week to light a fire in them…to create mystery however, every single day...it is us, the leadership guides, who leave with that fire.
We are challenged and inspired to bring something new and exciting to the table...to bring something delicious in order satisfy the beautiful appetite for learning these Outsiders children have.

End of Year Presentation week is a special week here at Outsiders. It is a time that we, the guides and parents, sit at the feet of our children. Learning about their passions, seeing the joy and satisfaction as they present what interests them.

Magic happens when you follow the lead of a child. To chase the mystery. When you exist to foster an unquenchable desire for more learning, there isn’t a stone you will leave unturned. There is no telling the adventures that will be had when THEY get to be the captain of the ship.

We are all voyagers in this EPIC adventure, but what we get out of the ride is up to us.

We are honored to celebrate our Outsiders 8th grade graduates. A group of young people standing right on the edge between childhood wonder and who they are becoming. And what a gift it has been to witness that becoming.

We have watched these students build fires, build friendships, build confidence, and sometimes even rebuild themselves. We have watched them learn with dirt on their shoes, sun on their faces, and curiosity leading the way. They have asked big questions, taken brave risks, failed forward, laughed loudly, and grown in ways that cannot be measured by a test score.

At Outsiders, we have always believed education should feel alive. That children should be known deeply. That learning should be adventurous, meaningful, and connected to the real world around them. These graduates are proof of that philosophy.

Some have been with us for years. Long enough for us to watch them go from timid littles riding bikes between classes…to thoughtful, capable young adults preparing for their next adventure.

To our 8th graders:
Do not lose your wonder.
Do not trade your individuality for acceptance.
Keep asking questions.
Keep creating.
Keep exploring.

Keep being brave enough to take the trail less traveled.
We are endlessly proud of you. What an honor it has been to walk alongside your story. ❤️

This year’s Outsiders senior graduation theme was The Next Adventure…and what a fitting theme it was.

As we looked around the property, we couldn’t help but think about all of the miles behind these students. Some of them have been with us since the very beginning. We have watched them grow up barefoot and wild under the open sky. We have watched them climb trees, lead campfires, wrestle through hard seasons, discover who they are, and slowly become the kind of humans that make you stop and think, “The world is going to be better because they are in it.”

That is the strange and beautiful thing about this kind of education. When you spend years learning alongside one another, outdoors and shoulder to shoulder, people become part of your story. These students are not just names on a roster or faces in a yearbook. They are woven into the fabric of this place. Into the trails, the laughter, the traditions, the chaos, the adventure.

And now here they stand…on the edge of what comes next.

Not cookie cutter.
Not manufactured.
Not afraid to think differently.

Extraordinary humans with stories to tell and gifts to offer the world.

What an honor it has been to watch them become who they are.

To our graduates: may you walk boldly into your next adventure. We have no doubt that you will leave beauty everywhere you go. ❤️
