Trailblazers had one mission: outsmart the storm. 🌪️
After spending the last two weeks building skills in awareness and navigation, it was time to put those skills to work. Students explored the property, gathered natural materials, chose where to build, and worked together to create shelters they thought could withstand severe weather.
Along the way, they were thinking like builders and problem-solvers. Learning how location, structure, wind, debris, and material choice can all make a difference when conditions change. Then came the best part: putting their shelters to the test.
Some shelters made it through the storm, while others taught us what we’d do differently next time. Testing the idea was all part of the learning.
A little science, a little survival, a whole lot of exploring.
