I saw this image posted on a 🚫Bill Mell for KHSD Board of Trustees social media. After a local community member publicly pointed it out, the post was taken down.
But taking it down does not erase what was posted. Once something is put out into the world, it can be saved, shared, and remembered.
And we need to have an honest conversation about this.
Our high school students are CHILDREN. They deserve school leaders who understand the responsibility that comes with serving our children, our families, and our community.
There is NOTHING funny about Adolf Hi**er, N**i imagery, racism, or the systematic murder of millions of people.
The Holocaust resulted in the systematic persecution and murder of six million Jewish people by N**i Germany and its collaborators. Millions of other people were also persecuted and murdered by the N**i regime. This is documented history—not something to turn into a joke or a social-media photo.
Our schools should be places where children learn, grow, feel safe, and are treated with dignity and respect.
Our children should NEVER be expected to tolerate racism, hatred, discrimination, or dehumanizing behavior simply to receive an education.
Their emotional well-being matters.
Their education matters.
Their safety matters.
Their future matters.
And the people who seek positions of leadership on our school boards—including our Board of Trustees—should understand the responsibility that comes with representing children and families.
We should expect our school leaders to demonstrate integrity, respect, accountability, compassion, and good judgment.
This isn't about being on one political side or another.
This is about our CHILDREN.
Racism has no place in our classrooms.
Racism has no place in our schools.
Racism has no place in our school-board meetings.
And hatred has no place in the leadership of our children's education.
Our children come first. PERIOD. ❤️📚
We must demand better from the people asking for our trust and our votes.
Because our children's education should NEVER come at the cost of their dignity.

Our children deserve better.
And this is why I say:
🗳️ NO TO FASCISM.
🗳️ YES TO RESPECT.
🗳️ YES TO ACCOUNTABILITY.
🗳️ YES TO SAFE, INCLUSIVE SCHOOLS.
🗳️ YES TO PUTTING OUR CHILDREN FIRST. ❤️📚
