The Rincon Environmental Education Center is host to numerous events during the year, with tens of thousands of school children visiting the U. Forest Service facility to learn about the local flora and fauna within the Angeles National Forest located within the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California. Behind the Education Center is a very short nature trail which crosses micro climates in a
generally riparian area. The trail boasts numerous oak trees, poison oak, and various invasive species of plants which were introduced in to the forest in decades past. The Nature Trail's maintenance is primarily the responsibility of the San Gabriel Mountains Trailbuilders however the Angeles Volunteer Association, West Fork Conservancy, Fisheries Resources Volunteer Corps, and other volunteer groups work to keep the nature trail open and available for school children who visit every Summer.
