★·.·´¯`·.·★ What inspired you as a kid? ★·.·´¯`·.·★

Our childhoods were no doubt a source of massive inspiration ( even if there was intense trauma, as in my case) because of how open and receptive we are from ages 0-7.

The world was big, wild, magical, and scary!

It was that same inspiration that provided an escape for us into the worlds of our imagination….and ultimately into our art and creativity!

This image represents many of my childhood ‘companions.’ 🥹🩷 And honestly, it’s a world that I wish I could STILL escape into at times!

What inspired you as a child? What shows, movies, or toys did you play with? What inspired you to start making art?

I was utterly astounded by the mind-blowing cosmic artistry found in the medicine, designs and colors that were never repeated, always novel, always exquisite. Art is a great way to work with emotions ( it can also be super fun like in this sketch;) Art and the creative process is healing because it allows you to process your thoughts and feelings in safe outlets of expression. ( ESPECIALLY if there’s a narrative you’re working with)

In this comic panel, Clara is slaying a monster because it’s her ‘job’…she’s gotten really good at it…but she has fun with it by saying cheesy 80s one-liners😝 In doing this I take the ‘seriousness’ out of many things in my own life, which allows me to then focus on the truly important things.
