Struggling to get all your servings of veggies in a day? Word on the street is that you need to get 5 servings of veggies a day AND to make it really work for you and help prevent heart disease, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, etc.. you need to include a variety of colors 🌈 every day. That way you’re getting all the magical phytonutrients!

One of the best ways to help achieve your goals is to have a bowl, like this Vegan Greek Bowl! It has quinoa, red onion, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives and vegan feta. 😋

Wondering about portion sizes for servings? One fist for non-starchy vegetables, like spinach, carrots, cauliflower, peppers, etc. And 1/3 a fist for the starchy veggies, like potatoes, butternut squash, corn, etc.

Call me crazy but I like working out in the heat … safely of course. 💦

When the temps get as high as they’re currently reaching, consider moving your workout time to the top of the day or the end of the day if it’s outside. Refrain from working out during the hottest part of the day because despite your fitness level, it can be very dangerous. 🥵

Always make sure to hydrate with good old H2O AND electrolytes!! Hydration is LIFE my friends. 😘

Looking for a high protein vegan lunch option that is quick & easy? Here is a great one & it happens to be freaking delicious as well. Win/Win! 😋

This Thai Tofu Bowl can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner & what I love most about it is how you can prep it & easily throw it together when it’s time to eat.

One of the biggest ways people sabotage their goals is by letting their hunger take over & grabbing the quickest option they see, which is typically high in calories & low in nutrients & protein.

When you’re able to set yourself up for success by prepping meals or snacks, so you just need to grab them out of the fridge & throw together, your nutrition will THRIVE & your body will thank you! 💃🏻🌱

Here are the items you can prep for this dish & then throw together & enjoy!
🌱 Baked or Air-fried firm tofu

Have you ever heard of N.E.A.T? It’s one of the best ways to keep your metabolism a fire burning machine 🔥 & it doesn’t involve lunges or sprints! Pretty cool right?

As a Trainer, I feel that this society puts way too much focus on just the one hour a day workout & neglects to focus on the other hours of the day that could not only really BENEFIT your physical & mental health, but also make a HUGE impact on the goals you’re trying to achieve.

Don’t discount the benefits of parking farther away & walking or actually moving your body & cooking dinner. There are SO many ways to benefit your physical & mental health outside of the gym.

Happy Earth Day Friends!!🌎❤️

I don’t know about you, but I really love our plant and all of the creatures and elements on it. So on all days, but especially today, let’s do everything we can to honor her and treat her right!

Here are a few things you can do to help our planet today and moving forward:

🌎 Stop using plastic water bottles & get yourself a pretty 32oz stainless steel one to carry around with you

🌎 Follow a plant based diet or eat as minimal animals & dairy as possible

🌎 Reduce, reuse, recycle

🌎 Turn off the sink while your brushing your teeth

🌎 Purchase long lasting light bulbs

There are many other ways, but hopefully these few inspired you to take action😘

Confession Time: Even as a Vegan Mama and Nutrition Coach I struggle at times getting my seven-year-old daughter to eat her veggies🙈😩

I am fully aware that this is a phase that several children go through , but I also fully believe in not completely giving to them and stop putting veggies on their plates in order to avoid fits.

What you feed them now and introduce them to, sets the foundation for their nutrition for the rest of their lives. I overheard some moms at soccer practice the other day discussing how they only feed their kids nuggets and fries because they just don’t want to deal with the fights. Please don’t do this!🙈

I’m a big fan of re-introducing veggies in different ways to potentially spark, their curiosity. I tried this the other day for Sloan; it’s a mixture of cucumber and edamame with a tasty soy sauce base dressing. This way she was able to get in protein with the edamame and enjoy the hydration of the cucumber! 🥒

Keep mixing it up for them, get creative and have fun with it!

Being vegan doesn’t mean you will struggle with protein intake. There are so many ways to access protein on a vegan diet and here are a few quick ways to maximize your intake throughout the day:

1. For breakfast consoder having a tofu scramble with spinach and nutritional yeast. It’s delicious and nutrient dense!

2. Never underestimate a quality vegan protein powder. I use and have it after every workout to support my muscles.

3. H**p hearts have a delicious nutty flavor and are awesome to add to your shakes or salads. 3 Tbsp equals 10g of protein!

4. Consider swapping out regular pasta for a chickpea or lentil based version instead.

And of course add nutritional yeast to as many things as you can for a delicious cheesy vibe. This item not only gives you protein, it gives you massive amounts of B12! 🙌🏽

It baffles me every time I’m speaking to a new client or when people reach out to me asking questions about recipes and meals that time is a huge complaint and excuse for people.

In this country’s fast paced society, we place an over importance on productivity, work, money etc. and allow our health and wellness to be an after thought. 🧐

It’s important to remember that without proper nutrition, daily movement, quality sleep and stress management skills, you won’t be able to show up fully to produce to the level you want or hit those other goals you desire. And honestly, you could be affecting the length and quality of your life.

So make yourself a priority!

🌱Focus on whole foods eat the rainbow, stay away from processed and packaged foods that are just quick fixes and lack nutrients.

🌱Choose two days a week to prep your meals & snacks. It does not have to take much time. And even if it does take time, I have news for you, YOU ARE WORTH THE TIME!!! 💖
