Sharing what we've heard and what you can do about it.
🚨 Parents — We need to talk about student data and i-Ready.
A federal lawsuit was just filed against the company behind i-Ready, alleging that it may be collecting and sharing student data without proper parental consent.
Information about the case:
https://edtech.law/cases/m-c-v-curriculum-associates/
Let me say that plainly:
Your child’s information (name, student ID, responses, IP address) may be collected and shared — and many parents don’t even know it’s happening.
This isn’t just about one app.
This is about your right to know what’s being done with your child’s data.
Here’s what the law says:
Schools are required to protect student information and be transparent about:
✔️ What data is collected
✔️ How it’s used
✔️ Who it’s shared with
✔️ Whether YOU gave permission
If you haven’t been clearly told these things, you have every right to ask.
✊🏾 Here’s what you can do TODAY:
Email your child’s school or district
Ask:
What data is being collected on my child?
Who is it shared with?
Where is my consent on file?
Request everything in writing
And if they say “this is just how it works,” your response is simple: “Can you show me where that’s in writing?”
Start a folder. Save every email.
Patterns matter. Documentation protects your child.
Let’s be clear:
As parents, we are not overreacting—we are doing our job.
Our kids deserve protection, not silent data tracking.
If you want a copy-paste email to send your school, comment “EMAIL” and I’ll drop it below.

There’s a big difference between inclusion and isolation—and our students feel it every day.
Inclusion means a student is supported in the general education setting, learning alongside peers, with the accommodations and services they need to be successful. It’s about access, belonging, and meaningful participation.
Isolation can look like being physically present in a classroom but separated—working alone, excluded from group activities, or consistently removed without purpose or support.
One builds confidence, connection, and growth.
The other can lead to frustration, stigma, and missed opportunities.
Every child deserves more than just a seat in the room—they deserve to be seen, supported, and included.
Together, let’s continue advocating for environments where all students can truly belong.

Autism Awareness Month is more than a moment — it’s a movement 💙
Autism is not something to “fix.” It’s a different way of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world. Every autistic individual brings unique strengths, perspectives, and gifts that deserve to be understood, respected, and celebrated.
Awareness is important — but acceptance, inclusion, and advocacy are what truly make a difference. That means listening to autistic voices, creating supportive environments, and ensuring every child and family has access to the resources they need to thrive.
On this World Ausism Day, let’s move beyond simply knowing… and start showing up.
Show up with compassion.
Show up with patience.
Show up with action.
Because when we support individuals with autism, we build stronger, more inclusive communities for everyone. đź’™
