Happy Sunday!! The sun is finally back out in Houston β˜€οΈ this past week has been nothing short of dramatic. Time to recharge & start thinking about how to make this week better. Tbh as long as my lights stay on it’s already ahead of last week. The snow was cute but uhh let’s not do that again ❄️

For the past few weeks, I haven't known what to do, what I wanted to share on my IG feed, what I wanted to talk about on my podcast, and it’s because I have been feeling very off lately so hopefully today I have the words lol

I. AM. TIRED.

It seems like every day someone is asking me to do more when I don't have more to give. My job wants me to do more work, I want to create more content, the podcast needs more episodes and COVID just won't go away.
β€”
For the longest time, I went to the gym because I wanted to look better. I wanted to build muscle, burn fat and be a bad bitch πŸ˜‚ but lately, the gym has turned into the one place I can go where no one is asking me for anything. I don't have to impress anyone but myself. I can get away from all of the chaos. I can turn off my brain for the hour or so that I am there.
β€”
I know I'm not the only person to become depressed with all the s**t going on. And for a while, I thought I could overcome it by doing more to keep myself busy. If you're busy 24/7, you don't have time to think about being depressed. But I know I can't keep running around, surviving off fumes. Taking the time to prioritize mental health is just as important as physical health and if you've been struggling too, please know that you are not alone. Remember we're going through a bad time, we don't have a bad life!!

Every January, I hear so many women say they want to lose weight, exercise more, or improve their overall health. There are countless "influencers" telling us to make drastic changes to our diet or spend hours upon hours spent in the gym. Back in October, I decided to do an extreme influencer program to "kickstart my healthy journey." It lasted all of 3 weeks before it became too much. I liked some of the aspects of the program and hated others. Instead of saying πŸ–•πŸΎ it, I decided to keep what I enjoyed and ditched what I didn't. And within a few weeks, I was starting to see progress.
-
I've been in the world of public health for years and have tried teaching women how to improve their physical health. "Eat less and move more" were the general themes I taught, usually to varying degrees of success. But it wasn't until I tried that program that I realized why spouting one size fits all advice doesn't work. It's because we're trying to change our lives to fit into a cookie-cutter mold of what it means to be "healthy." And if our lifestyles don't fit that mold, we're told we are lazy. S**t, I guess I'm lazy then πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

I decided that I want to show women that you can get the results you want without all the bulls**t. Forget the waist trainers and detox teas; I'm talking about real women making real changes and getting real results. I created Lazy Girl Healthy World for women who are always on the go but want to make those changes. It could be losing weight, getting snatched, or just wanting to feel better in your skin! I will be launching a brand new podcast this month to discuss exactly how to do it, so stay tuned ✌🏽

For years I have had a passion for helping women lose weight and begin living a healthier life. I know from personal experience how confusing the world of weight loss can be--all the skinny teas, the fad diets, the yo-yo cycle of losing weight only to gain it all back. But through my years of working with obesity reduction and prevention, I learned a key message that is missing in today's weight loss market--it doesn't have to be difficult, WEIGHT LOSS CAN BE EASY!! You can lose weight and still eat the foods you enjoy. You don't have to spend hours cooking meals or doing exercises that you don't enjoy. You don't have to throw away your entire pantry and start over, you don't have to drastically alter your life to get and sustain the results you desire. So I decided to start Lazy Girl Healthy World, an online resource for women looking to lose weight without all the restrictions. Here I will share weight loss tips, easy healthy recipes, and fun workouts to help you get and keep those stubborn pounds off. There will be plenty of laughs, carbs, and cookies--so buckle up because your weight loss journey is about to get a whole lot more fun!
