CONGRATULATIONS, RANGER BAND!

Over the past two days, our two UIL Bands (Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony) participated in their annual UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation for Region 26. We are honored to report that both bands achieved the highest possible ratings for bands in their division, earning the distinction of Sweepstakes.

Earning consistent scores of "1" (Superior) across the board from two judge panels (comprised of notable conductors and educators from throughout Texas and the USA). We are very proud of our Ranger Band family for this tremendous feat!

We'd like to thank our wonderful Band students and parents/guardians for their incredible work and support this year. Additionally, thank you to our AMAZING private lesson staff for inspiring our students every day!

Whew! What a fantastic 2026 so far! Our Ranger Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony have had the opportunity to work with some amazing clinicians!

We want to thank The University of Texas at Austin’ very own Dr. Cliff Croomes and the Liberty Hill Fine Arts Director and past Texas Bandmasters Association President, Mr. Luis “Chico” Portillo for spending time with our students. We are thankful for your time and expertise.

As always, we would love to thank our amazing parents for always being there for us when we need volunteers. You all are our heros! Thank you for volunteering and making our Advanced Band Social a success!

Congratulations to the Ranger Band Wind Symphony!🎉

This past Saturday, November 8th, qualifying members of the Deerpark Middle School Band competed against forty of the best schools in the Northern Austin/Round Rock/ Pflugerville/Georgetown area in the annual Texas Music Educators’ Association All-Region band auditions. There were over 1,200 students who auditioned!

We are proud to report that six DMS students were named to the 2025-2026 TMEA All-Region Band for Region 26. These students will have the opportunity to work alongside renowned conductors from around the USA in a premiere ensemble for the top young band students in Region 26. The All-Region Band performance will take place Saturday, December 13th at the RRISD Performing Arts Center.

This is a tremendous feat as a young musician and the highest honor a middle school band student can earn.

Additionally, Greyson David placed high enough (1st chair in Region 26) to be placed in not only the premier Wind Ensemble but she will also be participating in the TMEA Region 26 All-Region Orchestra. This concert will be held at the RRISD Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 6th.

This past Saturday, Nov. 1, fifty-eight members of the Deerpark Middle School Band competed in the annual Texas Music Educators’ Association All-District band auditions. These individuals auditioned alongside 1,200 students from schools across the greater Northern Austin/Round Rock/ Pflugerville/Georgetown area area and we are proud to report that THIRTY DMS students were named to the 2025-2026 TMEA All-District Band for Region 26.

Nine of our students (noted with * by their name) placed high enough to advance to All-Region auditions this Saturday, November 8th at Walsh MS, earning them the opportunity to compete with students from forty of the best schools in the greater Northern Austin/Round Rock/ Pflugerville/Georgetown area. In this second round of competition, students will audition for a chance to earn a spot in the area’s premiere ensemble for young band students, the All-Region 26 Middle School Band.

The Deerpark Ranger band staff consists of Nicole Correa-Kemp, Catherine Yang, and Percussion Director, Jordan Garza. We would also like to thank our amazing private lesson staff for their work with our students!

It is with great honor that we announce that the Deerpark Wind Symphony has been recognized as a Commended Winner in the Foundation for Music Education’s Mark of Excellence National Competition. This is a TREMENDOUS feat as hundreds of ensembles enter this national competition! This is our band program's third time receiving an award of this magnitude.

The Mark of Excellence is a national music competition that recognizes music ensembles for high standards in performance. Ensembles are judged by nationally known adjudicators. This is a unique competitive environment which allows ensembles to compare their performance quality to other outstanding groups from across the country. The top quarter entrants are recognized as National Winners and the second quarter named as Commended Winners. The project received 478 entries in all classifications this year, and has received entries from 40 states. Winners are recognized in regional and/or national publications and at national and regional conventions. The performance of our ensemble represents the very highest level of achievement!

We are incredibly proud of our 24-25 Wind Symphony for their FANTASTIC performance last year, as their hard work and dedication to our Ranger Band program is the reason for this monumental accomplishment!
