Follow Curanderismo, the Healing Art of Mexico, they've so much great info and many delicious recipes too!

The "pan de mu**to" is usually baked a few weeks leading up to the Día de los Mu***os, which is celebrated on Nov. 1 & Nov. 2. They can be eaten by the living as a delicious treat or placed on the Dia de los Mu***os altar as an ofrenda to those who have gone before.

"The bump on top represents the cranium. Infused with orange blossom for the deceased. The bread is circular in shape to represent the cycle of life and death. The four raised slashes represent the crossbones and the tears shed for the deceased; they are placed in the shape of a cross to honor the four directions of the cosmos and the four cardinal points/guardians Quetzalcoatl, Xipe Totec, Tlaloc, and Tezkatlipoca."-Loose translation from the Spanish text on the photograph, by Grace Sesma.
