On this day 8 years ago 🫠

The screams coming out of my classroom could be heard all over the school. And the screams were mostly mine 😂

Happy Earth Day, y’all! Anyone else have a funny Earth Day story to share?? Or a worm story? I’d love to hear it!

Yesterday was my last day of work before this baby comes, and I wanted to do something special for my long-term sub! Finding a sub during a pandemic is hard, y’all! BTW I made this gift basket out of an Amazon box and some wrapping paper 😂

FYI, baby isn’t due until the end of October, but my doctor suggested I quarantine for 2 weeks before my due date. So I will be busy getting everything ready for this sweet baby’s arrival! Oh and I defend my dissertation 4 days before she’s due 😳

Do you ever wonder what to do with all of your old school photos?? I have a solution! Thanks to and her brilliant idea, I made these signs for my kiddos!

I’m new on my campus, so the kids don’t know who I am or what I look like. I thought this was a nice way to show them who’s behind the mask!

You can do so many things with these! I put one on my partition for my small group kids. puts them on large popsicle sticks and carries them in the hallway! I thought it would also be a good idea to put reaffirming messages in the speech bubbles like, “Great job walking in a line” or “Thank you for walking quietly in the hallway.”

What would you put in the speech bubbles? Let me know below! @ Dallas, Texas

Where my TYPE 1 teachers at?! 🙋🏾‍♀️

My friend introduced me to enneagrams this summer, and now I’m all about it! Thank you for featuring me as the Type 1 teacher. This describes me perfectly! She has graphics for each enneagram teacher type on her page! Go check out your number and see if it matches your teacher personality!

What is your enneagram number? I’m obviously a 1, but I’m also 1w9. Let me know below! 👇🏾

Yoga keeps me calm...especially during these times when I’m pregnant AND have anxiety about starting in-person on campus in a couple of weeks 😳

My headphones are the perfect way for me to listen to calming sounds while I do my yoga workouts. No wires 🙌🏾. 7 hour battery life, and the charging case holds 4 additional charges. There’s a microphone and a single button that controls music and phone use. Pairing is so easy. My favorite part?? ALL. THE. COLORS. 😍

I shared this book with my K-2 teachers last week. This is one of my favorite read-alouds. It’s a story about a town where all the colors lived together in harmony, until one day Reds decided they were better than the other colors. So the town split into sections. But a blue and a yellow fell in love, and had a green baby 💚. Y’all this story speaks to my heart so much!

This book sparks great conversations in the classroom. I read it to my fifth graders and asked them what the book reminded them of. One said that it reminded them of segregation. Another one said it reminded her of her life, because she’s mixed! Such a great book to add to your collection. @ Dallas, Texas

Our district is officially virtual for at least the first three weeks of school. Our superintendent reassured us that we won’t be returning to in-person instruction until it’s safe. So, I decided to create a virtual to provide resources for my students and their families!

What are your district’s plans for the year? Leave the corresponding emoji in the comments!
💛- In person
💚- Virtual

Meet the Teacher looks a little different this year.

I love using this to introduce myself to students and parents. There are several different templates, it’s completely editable (even the headers), AND there are instructions on how you can send this out to parents digitally! Link in bio!
