I'm back!
What's up?
Light in the Window Art Studio
This studio was originally founded in 1991 in Denton TX and moved to Austin Tx in 2009.
In addition to production of fine art, the studio has been used extensively for art studio classes offered to the general public.
It's nice weather here in Itasca...
I really do like having a store literally around the corner...I would like it more if it was a Walgreens! :-) But the one thats there will do. ;-)
What is, is.
One more semester at ACC is ending...in just a very few days. I have been teaching there since Fall 2011. This summer's class will be the the 26th lecture class (if my addition is correct) that I have taught at the college. I have missed teaching studio classes. I miss the interactive creativity that is experienced there. However, I never applied to teach a studio class there, partly because the lecture classes gave students and myself the opportunity to have discussions about a vast array of topics. Important aspects of those lecture classes are discussing the creative process, artists' experiences in the development of new ideas (that may even seem old-fashioned now), and seeing the students awakening to the concept of something outside their daily lives becoming an integral aspect of life itself. (On occasion, in a classroom of mostly non artists, there still remains an attitude of some students, that experiences in art or in classrooms are not "real world" experiences. Fortunately, a well disciplined and nonjudgmental expression while making continuous eye contact, and a calm, "This is the real world, too." usually works quite well. Timing is everything!)
Timing IS everything...and the time has come for a change.
