South Asia: deconstructed Speaker Series

South Asia is vast! Spanning a population greater than 1B people, every single region is vastly different and deserves to be represented beyond a subcontinent label. With various intersecting identities and the passions that go beyond traditional roles, we are excited to host “South Asia:Deconstructed”, a speaker series that is intended to provide inspiration to our population of South Asian students who often feel left out by being scooped up as South Asian. Additionally, this series is intended to provide insight to our general student body that there is more than one type of “South Asian” and learn more about how each individual navigated spaces with conflicts due to their gender, race, class, etc. We seek to deconstruct this label and celebrate each type of identity and non-traditional careers hosted on the 40 acres in this series.

Schedule of speakers:
3/1/2025 - Manu Kaur
3/7/2025 - Sri Mukund
3/14/2025 - Formerly UT Panel (Dr. Ahmed Shamim, Enakshi Ganguly)
3/28/2025 - Zara Chowdhary
4/4/2025 - Shehzad Malik
4/11/2025 - Lana Patel
4/18/2025 - Manjeet Sarkar
4/25/2025 - Dr. Suraj Yengde

RSVP is open to the public, but required to attend in-person. Stream available on-demand.
