Hard not to do the thing we just told you NOT to, right?
And we wonder why toddlers do the same thing 😅

🌎 Imagine you’ve been on the planet for barely t w o years, and you’re only just getting a hang of learning and using language (or in Mi Casa Familias’ cases- TWO languages) 🗣️

🧠 Your brain is also still figuring out how to pause, regulate, redirect, and think before letting big impulses take over ..(skills some people who’ve been on the planet for 30+ years haven’t even mastered). 💯

Toddlers are not trying to drive us crazy. 🤪
They are still learning how to live inside their bodies.

So instead of only giving them a stop sign, we can give them a road map. 🧭

“Walking feet activated.”
“Let’s hug it tight with two hands. ”
“Can you use your whisper-magic voice?”
“Let’s get our kind hands ready before we play.”

This is not permissive parenting.
This is skill-building.

It is helping a child’s brain know where to go next.
Children don’t just need to be stopped,
they need to be guided.

Again and again and again.
With boundaries.
With warmth.
With repair when we miss it.

With the steady belief that beneath the behavior is a child still learning how to be in the world.

Please share what has worked for you below! Let’s parent in comunidad. 🤍

Alice ☀️

We hope today you are celebrated, loved, and cared for as beautifully as you celebrate, care for, and support all of us at Mi Casa Es Tu Casa every single day.

You give so much of yourself to this team — your time, your thoughtfulness, your energy, and your heart — always finding ways to make our work feel easier, lighter, and more supported.

We want you to know how lucky and grateful we feel to have you, not only as part of our team, but as someone we get to know more and more each day.

You are deeply appreciated, deeply valued, and deeply loved by all of us.

We hope your day feels as special as you make everyone around you feel, and that in this new year of your life, we are able to take care of you back 💞

¡Feliz Cumpleaños!

🚦 Beep Beep! Get Ready for Class 7: Cars, Colors, and Kitchen Beats! 🚗🧂

This week at Mi Casa, we are hitting the road! We’ll be driving our cars, learning our traffic light colors, dancing with Tía Mónica, and cooking up some fun with our salt and pepper shakers.

Want to unlock a little extra magic on the mats this week?

🎶 Start playing the Class 7 playlist on the Mi Casa Es Tu Casa app during your car rides or playtime at home before you come to class! When babies and toddlers hear familiar melodies, their confidence soars. Recognizing the songs ahead of time helps them transition from observing to actively participating!

✨Swipe for a sneak peek at the developmental magic (and free Parent Ed!) we will be exploring this week!!

Have you been enjoying these class previews we’ve been sharing? Have they been helping? Let us know! ⬇️

Did you know that animal sounds and vehicle noises actually count as your baby’s first words?! 🤯🚂

This week, our playlist is packed with fun sounds, lots of counting, and big, colorful energy! 🐟🚂🌈🎾 We are diving into the ocean to count fish, riding the “chu chu” train, and practicing our impulse control with rainbow ribbons.

Here is a little sneak peek at the Parent Ed we will be diving into during class:

🚂 The Power of “Chu Chu”: We’ll be using lots of onomatopoeias (sound words like vroom and beep).

These are a wonderful entry point to language because they are easier and more fun for babies to replicate than formal words.

And yes, pediatricians count them as words! 🧠

Context is Everything: When learning Spanish, pairing a word with a physical experience—like feeling a spray of water while signing “agua”—creates powerful neural connections in your baby’s brain.

☁️ Reframing Resilience: During our lullaby, we are going to talk about how resilience actually feels. Hint: it usually feels like frustration, and that’s okay.

Want to get a head start before class? Pull up the Mi Casa Es Tu Casa app and start listening to the Class 6 songs this weekend! 🎶

What is your little one’s favorite sound effect to make right now? (A vroom vroom? A roaring lion? 🦁) Tell us below! 👇💛

So much of motherhood happens quietly.

We are honored to hold a space where it is our duty, our sacred responsibility to be loud about it. 🙏🏼

And we are touched to walk this complex, disorienting, incredible experience alongside you, and see you in it, as you are seeing us. 🥹

Lighting the way for each other 🕯️

How lovingly powerful to be together in the knowing that we will all look back on the studio as where we spent some of our earliest mothering— during our lightest, heaviest and uncertain moments.

To know we created a space together, for each other.🤍

Gracias mamas, for making Mi Casa a safe support system.

You truly make it feel like home. 🏡💗🎶

¡Feliz día de las Madres!

There are countless places geared toward children all around us, yet so rarely do parents come across ones that feel like whole body YES’ses 🙏🏼

Where your child is not only cared for, but truly seen and held with presence in their heart, body, mind, and soul.

Where their pace is respected, their emotions are welcomed, and their little spirit is met with gentleness. 🥲💕

That kind of space is not accidental.
It’s created by teachers who show up with intention, with awareness, and with so much love. 💗

This Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re holding deep gratitude for the ones who do that work—quietly, consistently, and so powerfully.

The ones who help shape not just what our children learn…but how they feel in the world.

If a teacher here has touched your family, we would love to hear 💌

Send us a DM with a note for them—we’ll make sure they receive it, and may share it here to celebrate them with our community 🤍

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!!!!

CLASE NÚMERO….5! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You may still be learning your baby’s ways, temperament and learning style..

but something we do know about tiny beings, is that one of their first love languages is the comfort of a predictable rhythm. 💗

The safety of knowing exactly what comes next. 😌

This week in the studio, Hábitos (Habits) are on our mind! 🚿💤🍽️

We’ll be singing, moving, and using Sign Language to map out all those daily routines:
antes (before)
después (after)
lavarse las manos (washing hands)
dormir (sleeping)

Here is a little sneak peek at the Parent Ed we will be diving into during class:

🪥 The Toothbrush Battle: Did you know you should start brushing your baby’s gums before they even have teeth? It’s not just about hygiene; it’s about building the physical habit early so it isn’t a shock when those teeth finally come in.

🧠 The Power of Anticipation: Babies understand a ton more than we might think! We will talk about how narrating your daily habits helps your baby predict what is coming next, making those tough transitions so much smoother.

Want to get a head start? Pull up the Mi Casa Es Tu Casa app and start listening to Hábitos this weekend!

If you have a baby AND a toddler, you know the struggle of the “activity juggle”. 👶👧

Usually, you are forced to make an impossible choice:
1️⃣ Go to the baby class, where your toddler is bored and bouncing off the walls.
2️⃣ Go to the toddler class, where you spend the entire 45 minutes shielding your baby from being trampled.

That is exactly why we created the Family Class (ages 0-4) at Mi Casa Es Tu Casa.

We built a single, beautifully bilingual environment where your whole crew can thrive on the exact same mat. We engage your toddler’s developing brain, while providing a safe, sensory-rich haven for your baby to observe and explore at their own pace.💓

No splitting up. No compromising. Just one village, learning and growing together. 🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Stop doing the scheduling gymnastics!

We have an incredibly playful (and beautifully chaotic!) class planned for you this week on the mats.

This week in Corazón (Class 4), we are talking about the power of chaos and adaptation. ✨

When we throw your little one slightly off-balance, or ask them to suddenly switch seats, or play a game faster than they are used to... their brains go into “high alert” mode. 🧠 🚨

This controlled chaos actually thickens the bridge between the two hemispheres of their brain, meaning they build problem-solving pathways faster!

🚗 De Paseo (A Bumpy Car Ride): We are going on a pretend car ride! We will bounce over “topes” (speed bumps) and take sharp turns to throw them safely off their equilibrium—a fantastic way to build core strength!

🎓 El Jazz del Sombrero: We are pulling out the hats for a game of passing the beat. Prepare for a little bit of silly chaos as we pass them faster and faster!

Want to practice at home before class?

Pull out your Mi Casa Es Tu Casa app right now, queue up Palo Bonito, and practice your finger isolation together!

👉 Palo = index finger
🤙 Bonito = pinky finger
👍 Eh = thumb

(Parent tip: It takes children a long time to learn how to imitate, so don’t force it—just let them watch you do it over and over!).

What song are you excited for this week?

💛🎶
