Week 7 of LUZ is bringing us bajo el mar 🌊🐟, through the city 🚂🚗, and into a whole lot of movement, music, storytelling, and play.

This week is such a beautiful example of how we teach Spanish at Mi Casa: not by asking little ones to memorize words, but by helping them experience them.

They’ll move arriba y abajo, feel the difference between rápido y despacio, meet sea creatures through story and movement, strengthen little fingers with Tata 💃, and connect new vocabulary to sounds, touch, rhythm, and imagination.

And for the grown-ups, we’re sharing simple ways to bring those same learning principles home—because language development doesn’t need to look like a lesson. It can happen in the bathtub, during a silly movement game, in a song, or in one tiny moment of connection. 💛

One of the most special things about Mi Casa Es Tu Casa is that it really does feel like home the moment you walk in. 💛
And so much of that feeling is Brenda.

It’s in the way she welcomes you with her bright smile (see above 😍), her warmth, and that perfectly timed sense of humor that can make even the busiest day feel lighter.

Brenda’s thoughtfulness lives in the little things — the details she remembers, the things she notices without being asked, the quiet ways she takes care of people. The kind of care that might go unseen from the outside, but means everything to those lucky enough to work closely with her.

Brenda cares deeply. She pays attention. She remembers what matters. And she has a beautiful way of making people feel supported, seen, and cared for. This is why you feel so well taken care of when talking to her in the studio, or exchanging emails, texts or phone calls with her whenever you reach out to us.

This week, we’re singing, signing, dancing, drumming, imagining—and learning with our whole bodies. 🕷️🥁🦁

We’ll bring a familiar favorite to life en español with La araña pequeñita, use playful pulguitas to reinforce body-part vocabulary, transform into big and tiny animals during our Fiesta en la Jungla, and explore rhythm, tempo, volume, and pattern prediction with los tambores. 🎶

But, as always, the magic of Mi Casa goes far beyond the songs..

In this week’s class, you’ll also learn:

🤟🏼 Why sign language can empower babies before spoken words are available—and continue supporting toddlers during overwhelming moments

🧠 How movement, touch, rhythm, and repetition help children build stronger connections to new vocabulary

👀 Why watching quietly, looking away, dancing wildly, and exploring with the whole body can all be meaningful forms of participation

💛 How to hold clear, loving boundaries without turning them into questions

As you can imagine, finding a Mi Casa teacher is no easy task. 😮‍💨😅

Our standards are exceptionally, and intentionally, high: they must genuinely love children, speak fluent Spanish, sing on key, connect naturally with families, understand conscious parenting and child development, and bring warmth, playfulness, patience, creativity, and emotional presence into every class. 📋

Finding all of those qualities in one person already feels rare.

Finding them in Jossecarlo—along with his extraordinary intelligence, musical brilliance, warmth, humor, and genuine reverence for children—feels like an incredible gift. 🥹

🌞 How is it that he has sung “Buenos Dias” and “Hasta Pronto” 100’s of times, yet somehow still makes every child feel as though he is singing it just for them?!

Children adore him because they feel Josse genuinely sees them. Parents love him because he makes the experience just as joyful, engaging, and meaningful for them as it is for their little ones. The Mi Casa team loves him for all of that, AND MORE!!

He is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime educator every program dreams of finding and the kind of once-in-a-lifetime friend people cherish forever. In so many ways, it feels as though he was made for Mi Casa—and that Mi Casa was waiting for him. 🙏🏼🥲

✨ Here’s your sneak peek at Week 3 of LUZ! ✨

This week, our families will explore Spanish through butterflies, frogs, a very hungry crocodile, music, movement, and plenty of imaginative play.

Every activity supports more than vocabulary.
Children will also practice listening, coordination, body awareness, musicality, turn-taking, and emotional connection.

To prepare for class, listen to the songs in your Mi Casa App and practice a few simple words at home:

🦋 Sube, baja, vuela
🐸 Salta, gira, lado a lado
🐊 ¡Para ya de comer!

After class, choose the activity your child enjoyed most and repeat it for just a few minutes.

Repetition helps children recognize language, participate more confidently, and build meaningful connections between class and home.
