One of our own has left us much too soon. Ryan Mecredy’s family has set up a fund for his daughters. It’s been shared on our group, but I wanted to make sure it was also on our page.

UPDATE: PLEASE READ. EVENT POSTPONED.

The Battani Family’s flights to Austin have been cancelled and they will not be able to attend Tuesday night’s event to honor Nick Battani.

This news is in relation to the thousands of Southwest Airlines travelers that have endured cancellations both in and out of Austin over the last few days.

Please accept our sincerest apologies, but in lieu of this unforeseen circumstance, we regret that we must POSTPONE the event. Thanks to all of you who sent notes, texts and purchased food tickets. Not to worry, you will receive a full refund and we will reschedule when the family is able to travel to Austin. Again, Nick’s family is devastated and saddened, but are grateful for the outpouring of love shown by all of you. We will reschedule so stay tuned.

Stay tuned as we have secured a venue for Nick Battani’s Celebration of Life on October 12th, 2021 at 7pm. We are awaiting some final details and we will share an official announcement once everything is finalized. The Battani Family will be in attendance as we enjoy a night together to remember one of our own.

Hey ‘97 Trojans,

Just a quick heads up as we enter the planning stages for an Austin based memorial for our fellow Trojan, Nick Battani. We hope to finalize a venue this week and one that will be convenient for anyone local or traveling. The Battani family has requested we host on Nick’s birthday, Tuesday, October 12th. Tentative plans call for an evening event, so if you’d like to attend, put this date on your calendar. Hope y’all are well and we hope to see you on October 12th.

An update from Nick Battani’s partner of 14 years. Y’all are truly amazing.

“It DOES look like Nick will be having surgery later *today* on his spine to try to fix the paralysis...It is an absolute miracle considering 2 days ago the doctors insisted his vitals and immune system wouldn't allow him to have any kind of surgery anytime soon. I am positive that it was only because of the outpouring of love from YOU GUYS that we were able to lift his spirits enough to get his vitals back up! Please keep him in your thoughts today for a smooth & successful procedure.
