Switch Energy Alliance
Inspiring an energy-educated future
https://switchon.org We are committed to providing a positive environment to converse and ask questions about energy.
SEA was formed to inspire the public to learn about energy, engage in informed conversations, and make smart decisions about our global energy future. As a 501(c)(3) certified nonprofit, our goal is to create objective, film-based resources that can be used by students, educators, or professionals to learn about the importance of energy in the world today. We present our content through three inte

Earth Day fact: In the U.S., domesticated honeybees pollinate about 35% of the food crops Americans consume. That makes pollinators a vital part of not just ecosystems, but also agriculture, food security, and daily life.
EarthDate’s The Business of Bees offers a strong reminder that protecting pollinators is part of protecting the environmental systems that sustain us.

In recognition of Earth Day, Energy Switch explores a "cool" topic in this new episode of Season 8, "Arctic Climate."
The Arctic is warming faster than the rest of the planet. Melting sea ice has opened northern shipping lanes but exposes more water to the warming sun. Melting land ice raises sea levels. Changing weather can bring cold air south to the rest of us. We’ll look at these with research scientists Nancy Fresco from University of Alaska Fairbanks and Twila Moon from Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at UC Boulder.

Earth Day fact: Geothermal energy taps heat that still remains inside Earth from its formation 4.5 billion years ago, along with heat from the natural decay of radioactive elements.
It’s one example of a bigger idea explored in EarthDate’s “Energy Born of Earth”: every form of energy we use is deeply connected to Earth’s systems and resources.

At SEA, we help students explore those connections through free classroom resources that bring energy, environment, and Earth systems into the same conversation. If you believe thoughtful energy education matters, support our work this Earth Day.

This Earth Day, we’re thinking about the connection between energy, people, and the planet.
Around 2.8 billion people still rely on biomass like wood, dung, or crop waste for cooking and heating. That makes energy access an environmental issue, a health issue, and a human issue.
At SEA, we create free classroom resources that help students explore these connections with honesty, context, and real-world relevance.
If you believe students deserve thoughtful energy education, support SEA today. Your gift helps us keep these resources free for teachers and classrooms everywhere.
