Another year. Another closing ceremony. Another room full of people who somehow made something extraordinary out of the ordinary work of learning together. We sang our school song today and felt, maybe more than ever, what it means to be Whole Life. So proud of every person who made this year what it was.

Seventeen Opals. Nine adults. One overnight trip to Fort Worth that none of us are going to forget.
From the Dr Pepper Museum in Waco to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, the Omni Theater, the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, and a midday Thursday at Billy Bob’s, our middle schoolers moved through every one of those spaces with curiosity and ease and a confidence that made every docent and staff member take notice.
The Modern Art Museum welcomed our students into a space that kids don’t always feel like they belong in, and our kids rose to meet it. The Omni was the highlight of the trip and our students will tell you so themselves. We laughed. We cried. The kids are still talking about it. The Botanical Gardens surprised all of us with their scale and beauty, from the Rose Garden to the Japanese Gardens to a Lego exhibit that proved wonder has no age limit. And Billy Bob’s? They had no idea what was coming. It was pure joy to give them that.
Thank you to the Dr Pepper Museum for their grace and flexibility when we needed it most, to the Modern Art Museum for their incredible docents and for genuinely welcoming our students, and to the Omni team for creating something our kids will carry with them for a long time. To every family who trusted us with your kid. To every chaperone who showed up. And to the adults who kept the trip running smoothly even when it didn’t start that way.
And to the Opals: you were the absolute best. Prepared, grounded, comfortable in any room, and completely, wonderfully yourselves. That is a testament to Whole Life and to the way this community raises its kids. We are so proud of you.

Nine days left. Can you believe it?
We squeezed in one last coffee and connection this morning, and it felt exactly like it always does — like the best kind of pause. Good people, good conversation, the school year winding down around us. We’re not ready, but we’re grateful.

As this school year winds down, we have one small ask.
If WLLC has meant something to your family, will you leave us a Facebook review? Google reviews are no longer available, so Facebook is where your words will live and where new families will find them.
It does not have to be long. Just honest. A moment, a feeling, something your child said on the way home.
Those are the stories that bring the right families to our door.
Head to our profile, click reviews, and add yours there. Thank you for taking the time.

We have been sitting with what that actually means. What it looks like when someone chooses, every single day, to be genuinely present with children. Not just to teach them things, but to know them. To care about who they are becoming.
Our mentors carry a lot. The planning, yes. The curriculum. But also the weight of being trusted with someone’s child. Someone’s whole world. That is not a small thing. It is a significant thing, and our mentors rise to meet it with steadiness and warmth and real investment.
Thank you is not enough. But it is what we have, and we mean it deeply.
To every mentor at WLLC: we see what you bring. We are grateful you are here.

Raise your hand if you’re still a little sore from Field Day.
Field Day doesn’t happen without the people who show up early, stay late, and give the whole thing their whole hearts. To everyone who volunteered their time this year, thank you. Genuinely.
We hope you’re rested, un-sunburnt, and still carrying a little of that joy with you. You earned it.
See you next year?
Today, SpringShine came to life.
Thank you to everyone who showed up to celebrate with us and with our friends at Mutable Earth Botanicals. The Opal market was open and thriving. Herbal spritzers were sipped, good food was shared, flower crowns were made and worn with full commitment. The silent auction drew people in. The drum circle carried us into the food forest, and we ended the day with a game of capture the flag alongside alumni returning home.
It was exactly what it was meant to be. We are so grateful.
