Did you know mace and pepper spray aren't the same thing?

Many people think they're interchangeable, but there's a crucial difference that could impact your safety in a dangerous situation.

Mace works only on pain receptors—meaning if your attacker has a high pain tolerance or is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, it might not stop them. They can still keep coming at you, with their eyes wide open.

But pepper spray?

It’s a different story. Pepper spray doesn’t just cause pain—it forces the attacker's eyes to close, often for 15-30 minutes. No matter how tough or impaired they are, pepper spray’s powerful formula gives you time to escape and get to safety.

After researching the best options, I’ve found a collection of pepper sprays that I trust with my life. Some even come with a disengagement wristlet so they can’t be used against you if taken.

You can check them out here.
