Yesterday, we were thrilled to celebrate the success of our internship program at the Austin ISD Internship Closing Ceremony, hosted by Austin Lighthouse.

For the second year, we partnered with and the to offer valuable internship opportunities to 66 AISD students. These experiences are not just about work; they are about building futures and empowering our youth.

As Superintendent aptly said, ‘I want to express sincere appreciation to our partners,’ whose support is vital to the success of initiatives like this.

Thank you to everyone involved for making a difference in our community! If you have stories or experiences from internships, we’d love to hear them!

The Austin Ed Fund is proud to partner with the and to launch this year’s Austin Internship program. Current 9th-11th grade students will learn from hands-on training, skills development, and meaningful workforce experience, to better prepare them for the workforce. We are proud to more than double last year’s program with 67 participants. A huge thank you to our industry partners across Austin who are providing meaningful opportunities.

“The internship has clarified my interest in civil engineering, prompted me to focus on relevant courses/activities this coming semester” - Student Intern, Summer 2024.

Attention Austin ISD Educators! The clock is ticking for your ITF grant applications! You could receive up to $10,000 for your innovative classroom projects.

In 2024, we awarded $450,000 to 66 groundbreaking initiatives, and since the program began, over $2.5 million has been granted to 500 teacher-led projects. Thanks to our community partners, we can support these essential initiatives, empowering our dedicated teachers and staff throughout the district.

📸✨ What an incredible day at the Grand Opening of the culinary kitchen space at Cunningham Elementary last week!

Under the guidance of Principal Stacy Foss, students transformed their culinary dreams into reality. Seamus Martin, a team member of OID/AEF, captured the essence of the event: “There are restaurants, and then there are concepts… The culinary kitchen at Cunningham is an avant-garde gastronomic experiment.”

From spicy tomato soup to gnocchi ratatouille and a festive chocolate chip cookie cake, the flavors were unforgettable!

Thanks to the Lagasse Foundation, the culinary kitchen and the farm program at Cunningham continue to thrive, fostering innovation and creativity in education. 🌱👩‍🍳
