"Using generative AI to accelerate ex*****on isn't cheating; it's resource optimization. But using AI to bypass critical thinking? That's negligence."

The AI conversation has become too polarized. The real question is not WHETHER to use AI. It's WHERE.

WHERE AI MAKES YOU BETTER:
→ Drafting status emails
→ Summarizing meetings
→ Formatting documents
→ Pulling research

This is resource optimization. Use AI to free time for human judgment.

WHERE AI MAKES YOU NEGLIGENT:
→ Deciding transformation approach
→ Reading stakeholder dynamics
→ Making trade-off decisions
→ Building trust with teams

When you outsource these to AI, you abdicate responsibility. The AI has no stake in the outcome and won't explain what went wrong when it fails.

THE LINE: Ex*****on tasks are repeatable. Automate them. Thinking tasks are contextual. Keep them human.

POLL IN COMMENTS:
LIKE: AI for ex*****on, never strategy
LOVE: AI for both, but review critically
CARE: Still figuring out boundaries
WOW: Avoid AI in transformation work
Drop your take in the comments.

The system is built. The training is done. And half the team is quietly still using the old way.

We are sitting down with Jesse Fewell to talk about exactly that, the consultant who has worked with the Federal Reserve Bank, Duolingo, and Washington DC public schools on getting teams to actually adopt what leadership rolled out.

Hosted by Nono B.

One hour. Free. See you at 6PM CAT / 10AM CST / 12PM EDT / 4PM GMT.

"If your team uses AI to draft your transformation strategy and you can't spot the difference, the AI isn't brilliant, your strategy is generic."

This quote stopped me in my tracks today.
Here's why it matters: We're in an era where AI can generate impressive-sounding strategy documents in seconds. The real question isn't whether AI can write strategy. It's whether YOUR strategy is so generic that AI can replicate it without any context about your organization.

GENERIC TRANSFORMATION STRATEGY sounds like this:
→ "Embrace digital innovation"
→ "Foster agile culture"
→ "Leverage data-driven insights"

DISTINCTIVE TRANSFORMATION STRATEGY sounds like this:
→ "We're consolidating three legacy billing systems because customer complaints about invoice errors have doubled in 18 months and our support team turnover is 40 percent"

One could apply to anyone. The other could only apply to YOU.

The test is simple: Copy your transformation strategy. Paste it into ChatGPT. Ask "Could this apply to any company in my industry?" If the answer is yes, you don't have a strategy. You have a template.

Distinctive strategies require:
✓ Deep knowledge of your specific context
✓ Honest assessment of your constraints
✓ Clear trade-offs (what you're NOT doing)
✓ Implementation details only insiders would know

AI is useful. But if it can replace your strategic thinking, you weren't doing strategic thinking in the first place.

POLL IN COMMENTS: React with the option that fits you best.
LIKE: My strategy is distinctive and context-specific
LOVE: My strategy is probably more generic than I want to admit
CARE: I'm testing this right now

Let's have an honest conversation about this. What have you learned about your own strategy?
