Our school choice message in Texas is simple: Increase access to full-time virtual schools for all Texas families. In support of this message, the Texas Chapter has been supportive of legislation that prohibits arbitrary barriers to enrollment like prior public school requirements, limits on grade levels offered, and caps on numbers of students that can enroll in full time online learning.

Big news! SB 569 was just signed into law, meaning that Texas has officially protected and expanded school options!
This legislation empowers districts and charter schools to offer high-quality, full-time virtual or hybrid education options, protects funding stability during emergencies, and ensures parents and students have more say in choosing a learning environment that meets their needs.
We’re incredibly grateful to Senator Bettencourt, Representative Bell, and every lawmaker who stood up for school choice and education freedom for Texas families.

Our incredible community of virtual school families showed up and spoke out!
On February 14, we gathered at the State Capitol in Austin for Virtual Capitol Day 2025, bringing together students, parents, and educators for a day of advocacy, education, and community. Attendees toured the Capitol, met with policymakers, and delivered heartfelt valentines to show appreciation and highlight the importance of virtual education.
A huge thank you to everyone who made our 2025 Virtual Capitol Day a success!
