I yelled at them for talking over me and made them write a 5 paragraph essay FOR A GRADE about why they needed to do better and take class seriously.
Then I grabbed them, threw them away, and said “I wasted your time like you wasted mine” 🥰
EDIT: this video obviously blew up (I am always stuck in low views, so this was surprising). I wanted to clarify a few things. I didn’t actually yell, it was an exaggeration. I was upset and they knew it too. When we discussed their behavior, they knew what they did wrong and how I felt. Obviously, when you post on the internet, you open yourself up to scrutiny. However, a 20 second video does not show how I actually manage my classroom and behaviors. It was a bad day. We learn and move on.
